Most opinions, are based on their old racks when they were in Portland. There old stuff was junk, but since they moved from Portland to Florida the rack quality seems to have improved. In fact, they are now the official rack suppliers for Land Rover. I've seen a new rack up close and compared to my old NWP rack it looks pretty good. Yes, I hated my old NWP rack and sold it. Ask me about my NWP bumper and I'll complain for about 15 minutes. But in the interest of being fair, they seem to have gotten the message and improved. Anyone remember when RTE springs were junk?

- With new fabricators in Florida, the welds on the new racks are good.
- Like the SD racks, the new racks are galvanized before powder coating.
- The powder coating on the new racks is much more durable than the powder coating that was being done in Portland.

According to the Safety Devices advertising literature they are coated in a zinc enriched primer. Roverracks racks are now made from galvanized steel.

hmm. that's interesting. i bought the rack and it was rusting profusely on the surface, so i completely sanded it down over a week and repainted it. it could use a touch up and some more sanding once summer comes. i figure i'll repaint once a year or so just to make sure everything holds up. i may just get it sand blasted, galvanized, and professionally powder coated next year, depending on how money is.

Thanks for the opinions everyone

Appreciate the insight Craig, sounds pretty risky for that kind of dough though

Good to see you're around Sinuh

You can buy them through any Land Rover dealer now. Maybe you can just swing by and take a look at a newer one?

I'll call my local Dealer

Mine had surface rust really bad as well. Some sanding and new satin black paint and it looks great.
