I re-read the minimum order for the Klean Kanteen and the stainless steel ones, you only need to order 160 units. For the powdercoated ones, it was a minimum of 500.

I haven't seen anyone from Overland Journal popup and say if they want to do this or allow their logo to be used. Is anyone who has replied from Overland Journal? If not, has anyone talked to them???

This is the point at which a fantasy tries to become a reality.

Permission to license a trademarked logo.

Placing and paying for a minimum order, hoping that everyone who expressed interest will pay up and not leave you sitting with 150 flasks.

Dealing with an organization that doesn't like products made in China and may want to see profits from sales donated to charity.

Balancing time and effort against reward and gain.

Or do you expect Overland Journal to do the leg work for you ?

Damn straight!! It's so easy to say "I'm in" when planning something and so much easier to say...."oh maybe I don't really care what my canteen says" when it comes time to pay up! Unfortunately $$$ rules everything around us.

Easy solution......does Overland Journal sell logo stickers? If so get your hands on one, buy yourself canteen of choice and viola, you're all set.

....if not.....

Plan 'B' = Expedition Portal logos stickers on The Cleen Canteen (or canteen of your choice)

The Kleen Kanteen looked like the most viable solution, and only a 160 part order. Do you think 160 would be enough?

Any thoughts from the Overland Journal personnel?

I love my Klean Kanteen! I am in for an Expo one.

I modified my 2000 Tacoma rear cup holder to hold a 40oz one.

It's perfect for those after work beer runs!

I think I'm going to order a Kleen Canteen, and put one of my Expo stickers on it.

Do you think there is enough interest for 160 "Expedition Portal" canteens (all the same size)?

What, like this? ;) I quite like my modded O.J and A.C.F SIGG's. SIGG's are the best IMO. Stainless is too heavy. If you're into and sort of hiking or back country exploring you'll know that ever ounce of weight matters. We love our SIGG's, the wife and I have 5 between the both of us. I'd buy a 6th O.J version, but I think it should be expo white, not black. I have a black one and it gets too hot if it's in the sun.

I'd buy one if it were made by someone other than Sigg. That's assuming it's the same Sigg that makes the fuel bottles.

My favorite of the SIGG bottles is their replica 1941 Swiss Army Field Bottle.

0.6-liter oval aluminum flask, nested in a detachable stainless-steel cup with collapsing handles, secured with a leather strap.

I just got one of these- very cool, very stylish, but kinda small and doesn't really feel right drinking water from an oval flask. The cup is superfluous unless you're sharing, but who's going to share water from .6l? I'll still use it for water, but it would be "just right" as an unbreakable container for a supply of something stronger.

Note: both the bottle and cup are entirely made of stainless steel, not aluminum, the bottle being powdercoated black. It's one of those products that is so well made and designed that you enjoy handling and using it. I'm probably going to pick up a 1l bottle for water.

It's definitely appropriate for something stronger. Share from the flask; drink your own portion from the cup. Pass it over the fire a couple times if that something is brandy and you prefer it warmed. Or use the cup's volume to add a mixer, ice cubes, etc.
