Stainless vs. Aluminium?

these folks are in Chico, CA so it might be a bit easier to get them, maybe cheaper. We've been using these exclusively for 2 years now and they hold up just as well.

I really like the fact that these are made from stainless vs. aluminium. May be worth contacting them about pricing. Just a suggestion.

The only thing I noticed was you have to order a minimum of 500 and they are made in China... but here is their cliam why,

"The Klean Kanteen is made “responsibly” in China because one of our founding principles was to produce an economically priced high quality stainless steel bottle as an alternative to plastic and lined metal containers therefore promoting healthy living with respect for the environment.

Our preference from the outset has been to produce our bottles closer to home but extensive research in the manufacturing sector left us resolute that our bottles can not be made closer to home at a reasonable price without sacrificing quality and safety, something we are steadfast against."

Personally I like the Vertical logo, but the Big-O design is cool.
I could/would do either...

Count me in! I like the BigO design the best...but no matter what they look like, I need a new water bottle and I'm in!

Sigg=plastic taste

I have both Sigg bottles and the Klean Kanteen bottles. I like the size, style, and spouts on the Sigg bottles. But, I do not like the plastic taste that the liner imparts on water stored in them for more than 24 hours.

The Klean Kanteens are outstanding. I'm not sure if we could schwing 500 bottles, but I just wanted to point out that these are made just as well or better than the Siggs and do not alter the taste of the water stored in them.

I like either logos, but I prefer the vertical one, if that matters.

Even so, that Swiss Army Field Bottle sure looks sweet.

Count me out for SIGG bottles - the only positive thing about them is you can't see the color of the water after you've treated it with iodine! Here's a short list of what I don't like...

  • The bottle dents easily, reducing the volume;
  • The inside coating cracks when the bottle dents;
  • The stopper isn't attached to the bottle and is easily lost;
  • The rubber washer on the stopper falls off easily;
  • When its cold out the narrow neck chokes up with ice first even though the rest of the contents is still liquid;
  • The bottle splits when the water inside freezes;
  • The smallest piece of ice on the thread causes a leak;
  • When its hot out you can't put ice cubes in the bottle;
  • You can't see from the outside how full the bottle is.

Seriously, a 1 liter soda bottle performs better.

Graham

How should we position the Overland Logo on the soda bottle?

Klean Kanteen

I love my Klean kanteen and I love dents it has. At first I was totally against paying high dollar amount for this type of product but I am a victim of peer pressure and keeping up with the joneses.
The Klean Kanteens are cool because they have no lining and mine has a nice wide opening that could accommodate ice if needed. They are now also offering a loop top so you can hang it off stuff http://www.kleankanteen.com/2products/klean-kanteen-accessories.html -

As a society we really should stop using all the plastic bottles.

  • And because the thread is inside the neck of the bottle, the water gets into the thread and freezes first so you need a screwdriver or stick to open the bottle.

Facing the inside so you can see it from the other side of the bottle with a cool looking distortion. :shakin:

Nalgene bottles work great all year round and would look even greater sporting an Overland Logo.

An insulated OJ coffee mug - or dainty fru fru cup - would also get my vote. :)

Oh yeah, and both those logos are excellent!

Graham
