Partner Stoves?

Ha, well of course it is not a hard problem to fix... but at that price it shouldn't be an issue in the first place. Nothing is perfect, but those seem like fairly obvious oversights to me. In retrospect, I'd have been better off with a much cheaper, less durable unit. I need a stove that can support the weight of a vehicle about as much as I need a $500 bear-proof Yeti cooler. Sometimes I am a sucker for nice but unnecessary gear.

I prefer stuff I can work on and rebuild and make like new with a few parts that are available rather than having something rust out or break and you throw away 
could be redesigned maybe ? but still happier with it than my 4 Coleman I have had over time still have two newer ones in my garage I have to try to sell off

Coleman is the inventor of the "I can work on and rebuild and make like new" stove.
30 years from now, let me know if you can buy the Partner rebuild components like you can for Coleman.

yeah I can see the Baja is a bit touchy on the low from my limited use of it !
I also like the gather around and cook idea which is why I am switching to it
in my digging on snow peak stuff I came across a Korean or Chinese site where someone had snow peak knock off stuff and it had adjustable legs ? was kinda a cool idea

but the magma grills for gas are very nice and they have lots of cool mounting options etc. might get the brain going a bit for ya
the magma grill quality is snow peak level if not in some ways nicer ?
I hear ya on the charcoal and the gas and why my idea was to have both
often for kids hot dogs and burgers for us I might not want to start the charcoal etc.. also the cool down if its lunch leaving the hot charcoal or stopping by the road on a longer trek for lunch etc.. is where gas has advantages IMHO
so the idea of the two together I think is a nice combination

just posted them I found them when looking at Snow Peak stuff in other countries for fun to get ideas and came across his blog and saw those !
do like the foot design
then back researched the name for the link above
I am sure SP could make them out of some kinda leg that has a turn adjustment and would be rock solid over the regular button type
I have thought in the back of my mind taking a pair of carbon fiber trek poles at costco that actually seem very solid and try to mount them into some short SP legs somehow
since I took one set of my legs and cut them shorter has made me wonder about adjustable legs would be so so so so cool for the SP stuff !!!

Thanks. Honu. Is nothing sacred to the Chinese? Those legs are pretty cool. I wish the SP legs did that. It would be much better than lugging around tons of fixed sized poles. SP makes adjustable legs for the Gigapower LI stove and theyre rock solid they just need to make them bigger. Love your posts. Lots of great ideas. Keep em coming!!

IMHO check out the partner griddles over cast iron also ditto the space you dont want the griddle to totally cover the stove top
no rust ever
nice high sides to keep food in
easier clean up
less maintenance
lighter
adapter for two hoses off the tank great idea use mine all the time remember the partner has the wheel thing with outside threads on the hose so you need the adapter that has the inside threads ? sorry dont know the correct names but something to check into more before buying a adapter
the one I have has the outside inside style threads
my adapter looks more like this and mine I am pretty sure has both the inside and larger outside threads

FWIW Bill @ Partner Steel doesn't recommend using quick connects with their stoves; something about flow rate.

Has anyone special ordered one of these with the top/lid/windscreens to be removable? It would seem like that would be a nice to have it out of the way if it weren't windy. I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a 22" model.

I did a custom order with it not attached and no handle but this was for my IGT setup
not sure if they can make a removable model ? but think they could use the same hinges they do on there take apart model maybe they will also do custom things like put in a extra center bar for small moka pots and things to fit on the stove better
I would say call em up ya never know

I called them earlier and talked through some options. The best thing we could come up with was a slightly smaller hinge rod that had a loop on the end to grab on to. To remove the lid you'd just pull the hinge rod. In the end I just opted for a standard 22" model.
