Preventing a deep dish of gumbo.... Neverwet on my new wheels

This works real well, before going Muddin'. Just spray it liberally in your wheel wells, rims etc.

Lot cheaper and easier to use than NeverWet, and these days it's available in butter-flavor too. 30yrs ago we had to use it plain. And we liked it.

I laughed out load thinking you were trying to make a joke but you are serious! I have to give this a whirl, had a few experiences that have made mud a nightmare during and after the trip and made a 45 minute drive home 3 hours because I seriously couldn't find a self wash to spray off all the mud on my rims and tires. If anyone asks why my Jeep smells like butter I'll respond "Special gas blend":sombrero:

No difference in a stream crossing and driving down the road while it's raining in terms of contaminants getting into the water.

Google rally car wheel scrapper. It is a piece of steel or plastic to out inside your rim. It scrapes the mud off the inside of the tire to help keep them in balance while racing. Depending on how thick and deep, you may need to reinforce

This is what I use:

Makes cleaning up A LOT easier. Spray all over the wheels, wheel well, under the sills, etc. I try to avoid mud, but I live in the southeast, so it is unpossible. Now I just spray this all over the underside of the vehicle, then pay the extra $2 at the automatic car wash, and then the underside is pretty darn clean as are the tires and wheels. For heavier mud I'll go to the coin wash. Then the mud just pops right off.

At $6 per bottle and $12 for a gallon, it is cheaper than WD-40 or PAM (or even knock off versions).

And how did you come to that conclusion? And what's in the ppm is vastly different. I'm shoked at the flippant attitude here from people who crave the outdoors but dot think twice about spraying oil on make mud fall off? And we wonder why access is such an issue. I'm thankful that here I'm my area of Canada of a warden sees that lovely rainbow in a puddle you just drove through you are responsible for the dammage at a cost of a contractor to come in and clean it up with soil samples to prove remediation. I'm embarrassed of the illogical thoughts here and just plain don't get it?

When it rains, where does all that water end up? Let's just say a local trail with a stream crossing sees 1000 rigs on it in a year. That's nothing compared to the millions of cars on the roads in the city nearby. And when it rains, all those billions of oil droplets on the roads get washed off and go where?

Potentially to that same local trail with that stream crossing.

But I bet there's no warden in sight when someone pukes out their crankcase in the parking lot of Tim Horton's. No fine and no remediation or environmental impact study.

What a redidiculouse argument that because that happens doing it on the trail is okay. Imagine 5 trucks in a row oiling up to save mud from sticking....that's huge. We wonder why trail access is disappearing because of ignorant b.s. like this. We are supposed to be an example of what to do not this crap. Why not use used oil ? Same thing and it's cheaper. Millions of cars don't run through streams directly and if you are aware of how a catch basin works alot of contamination stops there. Agree that some unfortunate contamination happens and that sucks big time but what you are saying is apauling to say the least, I would have expected more on a forum from people who are supposed to appreciate nature not contaminate it because they are to lazy to stop everything once in a while and pull out a shovel.....SHAME!!!

I'm not tree hugger but your logic and comments are pure stupidity ... what ************** argues it's okay to spread out more oil on trails because it could happen anyway by runoff??? Take a long looks in the mirror bud!! And the trails you ride I assume are away from the roadways thus away from the highway contamination so how does your logic come into play...I'm sure you lashing out at me is because your embarrassed by how silly you made yourself appear.

I hope you think hard next time your at the trailhead about what your going to do...by your own logic you may as well litter as it happens anyway

Sleep well friend hope yhe morning brings some clarity

Again, strawman, you are counter-arguing an argument that's not even being made, least of all by me. If you are going to go into histrionics over vegetable oil I don't know what more to say towards you, but to laugh at you.
