Got the tires installed today. Balanced very well. Casings (Nitto's) are from 08 and the look great.

Update.

Put around 600 miles on the tires. They are smooth, and a remarkably soft ride for an E-load tire. Tire noise is audible at highway speed but only with the radio off and window down. So far so good.

So I Have but around 5k on the tires and they are holding up fine. I also picked up a 5 hummer wheel so I could mount my spare. The spare will not fit under the truck, well if fits but there is only a paper thin space between the diff and the tire, the tow hitch it too beefy and takes up too much room.... I may need a 2in lift to fit it under.

The truck seems to love the bio-fuel mix form the truck stop, runs smother and combustion does not sound as "dry". I also run an additive.

Next on the list is get accessory belt changed. any thoughts Gates? AC delco?

Goodyear Gatorback is the ONLY belt that doesn't occasionally squeal on the Duramax's. Best place I found was Amazon. There are lots of different sizes for the different series Duramax, different alternator combos, etc, so make sure you get the right one. Not a peep since I put mine on.

The Dmax loves bio-fuel (and any other fuel that manages to actually provide lubrication, like diesel is supposed to). Probably not absolutely necessary to run additive with it, but can't hurt.

I don't remember if you have or not, but other things that some people forget to change out on new-to-them rigs are transmission filter and fluid (allison has both the spin-on and an internal. not a very difficult job. make sure to use Transyn-D or compatible fluids. Aliisons are very picky on fluid. I use Amsoil with great results), front and rear diff fluid (changed mine out at 108k when I bought it. Made an improvement in mileage, and seemed to roll easier), transfer case fluid (4wd engages much quicker), power steering fluid (we have hydroboost systems, and it gets burnt up after a while). Of course, coolant, brake fluid, oil, air filter, fuel filter, etc.

I was an Allison Transmission Field Service tech for about 10 years, there is no real reason to change the internal filter on the Series 1000/2000/2400 unless there is a catastrophic failure. Of course changing it won't hurt anything, but isn't required. When changing the spin on filter, remember that there is a fender washer shaped magnet, it will either stick to the top of the filter itself or the steel threads on the transmission. I've seen more than one of them missing.

Looking good. So when do the H2's get the treatment?

I can't decide whether to go with a liner on the bottom of mine or try one of those wraps that would cover the whole side and I could have fun with.

H2's will be next, then some all black towing mirrors, also going to paint the chrome exhaust tip black with some flat engine paint. A wrap would be awesome, but the rubberized liner would hold up longer I suspect.. I have also been thinking about painting the fender flairs black.:coffee:
