Crappy cellphone picture of our visit to the prime meridian. It was dark too, which certainly did not help

And what is up with all of the Mexican restaurants in Greenwich? It was odd, as there was at least three in a very small area? However, I do love Mexican food, so it seems appropriate that it should be the food of choice at the prime meridian ;)

Britain's oldest brewer. I enjoyed the Bishop's Finger Ale

We also visited the Prospect of Whitby, built in 1520, during the Reign of King Henry VIII

Looks like the London remember (at least the weather). Have a bitter for me!

It was a pleasure to hang out with Scott and Graham and show them around the city I lived in for a few years.

I resisted:
1. Buying $200k worth of double gun
2. $100k worth of Bentley
3. $10k worth of Leica

All within a 5 mins walk, despite Scotts best efforts! London is still a wealthy town, but I'm glad I traded $$$ (and a decent pint unfortunately) for quality of life. I won't even mention by how much CO weather beats the UK... I do miss riding my F650 in the London traffic though, the only way to commute in the Big Smoke.

I uploaded a few images from Explore 2009 to flickr. Explore is a truly great conference. The enthusiasm and expertise there are palpable and inspiring. See you there next year?

Spent 4 years at Goldsmith's College, University of London, New Cross. Greenwich was our local watering hole.

I think what is now Desperados used to be a Harley Davidson motorcycle shop in the 70's.

"London has been a wonderful city, much like New York."

I hope this sentence means, "London is a wonderful city,
and New York City is also a wonderful city." I don't think
the two cities have much in common, except the number of
people who live there.

Footloose 4x4, run by Paul from South Africa. They specialize in vehicle preparation for international travel (i.e. Africa and the Americas).

A great operation, and the nice woman running the front desk had just traveled the length of Africa - solo!

Here is their shop.

They appreciate the Land Rovers (and had many of them being prepped, but they actually recommend the 80 series - wise)

How did you like U of L?

I'm looking into their study abroad programs at U of L and LSE ( i don't know if they're formally still affiliated yet)

Nene Overland:

The mass of this organization was impressive. Probably 100 trucks on the lot and a dozen in process. They focus almost exclusively on preparing trucks for international travel.

Nice little D90 MOD truck

A color blue I had not seen before

Hmmm, the second from the left is a little different. . . A Santana. The first I had been able to see in detail

More from Nene

This was cool. Nene is importing Fourwheel Campers from the US and installing them on Defenders and small pick-ups. They seem to be very popular.

Note the Fox Wing!

They had a few Camel Trophy trucks there as well. The Mundo Maya ones always seem to be the most rough, from the section along the coast El Camino Real (I think that was the name of that road)
