Im not a hiker.. i hike every once in a while and it's for a short distance.
Well, that being said.. we are going to be heading out to Kelso Dunes on our trip in a few days and i want to hike to the top of the highest point. Supposedly they are 600 feet tall and the 2nd tallest in the USA. From what i read it takes the 'average' person approx 2 hours to climb it.
Anything i should think about before starting this? Any strategy on how to not burn out your calves walking up hill in sand?
