Yellow Shocks on my trailer?
IMG_3153.JPG

I don't think so
IMG_3154.JPG

Finished reinstalling the Leaf Spring brackets and the landing gear leg. I had to cut down the landing gear leg top piece down to use the bottom whole for the pintle. It couldn't have been the original leg holder because it had to sets of holes for the latch pin. It now clears the pintle properly when the landing gear leg moves up to be stowed for towing. The OP had made a notch for the top piece to allow use of the top hole or it wouldn't have worked either.

Really coming along and looks great. Nice pics!!! Are you doing a springover to get the tires to fit or moving the vendors?

SoA for now, will help the fenders fit the tires I hope

checking out the trailer height
IMG_3161.JPG

Seems a bit high but it should come down some when the tub is back on it.
IMG_3162.JPG

tires are 31x10.5x15s from my 84 scrambler, trailer has about 2 inches of lift from the SOA, and maybe an inch from the new shackles for the springs

What shackles did you end up using?
Looks great! Did you have a special pressure setup or just hit it with what ya got?

Didn't toss those wheels I hope?...

I used the same shackles another guy had used here http://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/126686-ArmyGreens-M416/page3

Daystar KJ61001BK 0.5" Lift Greaseable Shackle

They worked great

I actually have 4 rims to were sand blast, primed and painted, the other 2 where on the trailer when I got it and tires on them are completely shot. I also have 2 brand new tubes from Summit Racing, was gonna get original tires to go with it but I had these to use for now.

remounted / installed the brake handle after I cleaned it up and greased the bolt underneath the center of the trailer.

Made brackets to allow brake to function after the spring over axle modification, they give shorter attachment points for the cable to be bolted to.

This piece you slip the adjustable cable hook through and bolt it to the L piece that is connected to the brake handle

Sanded down to paint. they will get 2 coats primer to coats black semi gloss just like the frame.

What do we think of making a fender that looks like this its not as tall as the stock fender but looks better IMO with the Spring over Axle setup I currently have for the trailer. It doesn't look like the fender is 5 miles above the wheel. It uses 4 of the 5 stock mounts and holes, might also extend it further down to cover more of the wheel?

ended up being 25 inches across the top, 13 inches wide and the downward sides are 11 inches long, has a 1 1/2 inch wide lip on the front like the stock fenders do.

comparison with stock fender

It covers the wheel with about 1/2 inch to spare allowing for wider wheels later if I go bigger.

I like the shorter fenders.
get some black sunbrella canvas to cover the top.
Matching thr tub to the jeep? Matching Red would be awesome.

Been a while for updates, but I have been back to work on the trailer

Okay started on the "roof rack" for the trailer yesterday, because this came on the truck Friday

IMG_3526.JPG

set it up in the garage, he thinks its his new fort
IMG_3528.JPG

one rail installed have to drill the holes in 2nd rail tonight, on inside lid there is a 5"x2.5" metal plate I cut from 1/16 steel scrap to keep the rack from pulling through the 3/4s" plywood, (I'll get a pic later). Rails will be centered on the trailer at about 15 inches either side of center
IMG_3531.JPG

I installed the 2nd rail on Monday night and got the tent mounted up late
IMG_3534.JPG

This shows the inside and the mounting plates I cut that are 5"x2.5"x1/16" steel, this shouldn't pull through with 5/8 bolts, JK control arm bolts actually

IMG_3532.JPG

mounting up tent centering over the axle as best as I can to not increase the tongue weight
IMG_3535.JPG

can still lift the cover to get things underneath even with the tent up as long as now one is in it.

Tuesday evening, tent with cover on
IMG_3541.JPG

setup but found out the hard way will fold up with you in it, needs braces in the back.
IMG_3543.JPG

with awning extended but bottom not zipped on
IMG_3544.JPG

Made some temporary braces till I can buy and mount jacks or something
