Did you get the Bilstein shock rattle worked out that you mentioned earlier in the thread?

Those heim joints on the 7100s wear out super fast. I went through a bunch of the heims before I replaced them with a poly replacement. They lose a little twist, but the poly sure does ride a lot nicer. If you need the part# let me know and I'll dig up my notes. I bought them from Paul at eShocks.com

On my Disco It matters not nearly as much to have a little rattle but on a big aluminum box a little rattle turns into a very large annoying rattle! Well that and all the other rattles.

Another noise we're getting is "spring whack" for lack of a better term the closely wound coils on the spring are not quite closed (desirable). Subsequently when hitting a speed bump at higher than normal speed say 35 MPH the coils close abruptly an dthey make a whack sound.. A bit of time and a winch in the front should fix this. It is becoming apparent that this spring is very specialized and will take a bit of time to work out it's kinks. That said I'll share everything I learn, although they are a bit noisy they sure ride nice and handle even better than expected. Ramping them has proved that they move too :)

Ask for Prothane 19-920 (12mm bolt) or (19-919 1/2" bolt) - Bilstein 7100 heim joint replacement bushings

You need 4 packages as each package comes with 2 bushings (top and bottom).
Total will be around $45

I bought 19-919 because I bought my 7100s before RTE started selling the step down spacers to use with the factory Land Rover bolt size. If you drilled/tapped your shock mounts for 1/2" bolts you want the 19-919. If you are running the genuine bolts with the RTE step-down spacers you want 19-920. I believe both part numbers have an extension that describes the color (e.g. 19-919-BL for black).

OK, I have to be the slowest wrench on the West coast. Folks said it couldn't be done but I proved them all wrong. It actually took me 4 weeks to get my springs on, that'd be two weeks a side for those that are math challenged:) Anyways here are two shots showing the difference in the spings. The first pic is the regular Rovertyms and the second pic is the SG Specials. Notice the stacked coils indicating a progressive spring on the SG Specials VS a linear spring on the regular Rovertyms.

My first impression is positive. The ride feels smoother on the small bumps and overall body roll is less than the previous springs. In addition the suspension still cycles just as well if not better. I'm very happy with this spring and would recomend it. Unlike Graham, I decided to stack the coils to the bottom since I figured I would't be running through as much zebra droppings as he does:)

Tested out the SG springs for the second time off road this last weekend and am still very happy with them. They have a good amount of droop, which makes them fun in the rocks. Thanks again Keith and Graham, really appreciate you two putting the deal together. :wavey:
