There are a few serious issues with those wheels though. First, it's not uncommon to have that particular style not balance well. I don't know if they bend or warp or just come out of round but I've seen this issue of several XJ's. If you can't get them to balance and you think the tires are crappy. 10-1 its the wheels.

Another problem is they tend to either seize up and not come loose after they have been on for awhile or they will loosen up and fall off not long after you rotate them.

Keep a close eye out for those issues.

Why would they be any worse than other wheels?

Well, My Jeep was pressed into service as an impromptu shade device at our BBQ yesterday. We picked up a walmart large sized pool to keep the babies from overheating. It Worked a treat! Shade for the mommies, water for the babies and beers for the daddies.

Not a bad view! The end of the awning is very sturdy, and with some care, should last a long time.

Here's some closed pictures, showing the outer cover with its great stitching, heavy duty zippers and nice looking logo.

I'm planning on getting a MegaMule from BajaRack, maybe over the winter, but for now, I simply bent up some 1 in shelving support brackets that were already drilled with the hole required. Seems pretty strong, and does nicely right now...:)

So , I need them there nut-strips you bought Brian for my hitch also. Called the 'stealership" here. 30 bucks each. Think I'll either order from that link you have in here or maybe go and check out the pick-a-part around here.

With the strip, was it a pretty straight forward install ?

I ended up cutting my bumper mounts a bit to put them in, but it's because I intend on going with an aftermarket setup, and my bumper mount bolts were a bit seized. Otherwise, they basically slide right in and attach with the correct sized hardware.

the trimming can be done with a jigsaw or sawsall and basically just removes a bit of material from the bumper mount. These mounts can easily be removed, I'm sure, but I'm going to chuck them soon anyways when I get a backbone from detours.

Very easy, IMO, once I understood where they needed to get into the frame. about an hour to get the hitch installed.

cool. I already have an aftermarket bumper, so no trimming there.

yeah, you're golden then. The only slowdown was not being able to easily
remove the mount bolts. (and I got a bit impatient..hahhah!)

The website I posted is legit with very good email confirmation and speed of delivery. they came really well packed, too, so not even the remotest chance
of thread damage or bending.

OK, Brian. I ordered them up, plus a few other stock steering items I needed, on your recommendation.
We'll see if it gets here as fast as yours....:sombrero:

Do you recall the size grade 8 bolts you bought ?

That's the same place I got my nutstrips. Fast shipping, and they actually have them in stock unlike some stores. The treads are M12 1.75 40mm long... or was it 1.25

I've learned in the past couple weeks that installing a hitch is harder than it sounds, at least when all your bolts are rusty.

these are the size...i totally forget the proper length.

Just my luck. Everything I ordered has to be dropped shipped from the mfg.
They had none of it in stock at their florida warehouse. So the wait begins.:costumed-smiley-007
