Eurorom,

Are you planning to drive in from El Paso for this trip? If so, very cool.:clapsmile

Yes indeed, I am planning to depart at or around 11:00 am.
At this point I need to close the month, and then hit my supervisor for the extra time!:bigbossHL:

NMEA? :)

Articulate, depending on this upcoming week, we may need to meet your Sat morning somewhere. I definetely let you know however if Fri may work better. Luckily however we're both Hams so shouldn't be too much an issue to find each other on the ether.

:iagree: Yeah, your both "hams" alright.

NEMA would be fine if he had a long cable to reach me :D

I'm a Garmin guy so the GDB file worked great. All loaded up and know where we be now.:smiley_drive: Just need the meet place and time and we are good to go. Unless I get ancy and drive into camp1 ahead of time to set up early and wait with my feet up. Probably more fun to drive in together though.:ylsmoke:

Good point. I obviously had fat fingers and transposed my letters. I assumed if NMEA data was being presented, it would have to be transmitted across a direct cable conection.

Who knows what the heck NEMA is??? Maybe "National Electronics Moron Association" ??? :friday:

I might be interested if I can find somebody to take care of my 16 year old son for a few days.

I'm trying to figure out where you guys are going.........but none of your links to the potential map route are working!

This is typical for me..........of course everything has to be as hard as hard can be!:safari-rig:

Mark...........

I can bring you LOT'S of beer........although it might be cheap beer......but after a few......you won't even know the diff!.......hehe

Yeah! Just off highway 8 this in your backyard.....well maybe your extended backyard. :D

It's south of highway 8, between Gila Bend and Casa Grande. Here are a couple images of the map.

Good point. Your son is welcome to join us. Although they are not coming on this trip, I have 15 year old daughter and an 18 year old son. We can absolutley make your son feel welcome if he wants to come play. :campfire:

Meeting Place and Time:
6:00pm, Friday May 4
Junction of I-8 and Highway 84

Communications:
CB: 4
2M simplex: 146.460
My phone: 480-365-9106

If you can't make it there at that time, refer to the GPS files and come meet us at your leisure. If you can't make the GPS file work, refer to the map (see first post).

The Code:
1. He who falls behind gets left behind. But not really. It's more like a guideline. (If you haven't seen Pirates of the Carribbean, this rule probably doesn't resemble the joke that it really is)

2. It is customary (starting now, anyway) to bestow gifts of strong Mexican drink to the guys who set this up.

3. Wil is checking on the permits needed. An earlier conversation with the BLM indicated that no permit was necessary. That's conflicting information with other sources, so we're going to double check.

We'll be rolling into the camp just before sundown. On Saturday, it's exploration time, many photos, and good ol' fashioned desert driving fun.

Thoughts? Input? Complaints? Therapy?
