TracVision a5 or a7 DirecTV

I hope this is the correct place to post as I did not see any other forum that was more relevant.

I am thinking of buying a KVH TracVision A5 or A7 DirecTV mobile unit.

Does anyone have one? can you please share your expereince with it?

I heard that the A5 is noisy (but cheaper since it is discontinued). Any issues with these mobile units?

Thanks to all the great advice I went out and picked up a used A5. I will try to install it this weekend or next. If anyone is interested I can do a write-up.

Will do,
I am going to modify some Thule bars/feet and adapt them to my yakima rails. I think I figured out a good way to attach it and keep it low profile. By using the Thule bars/feet I should be able to quickly release it prior to going on hard cored offroad trips but leave it on for road trips.

I will post photos.
