Tucson- Rice Peak 3-30-2008

Bobby: THANKS FOR THE INVITE!. What a beautiful day outside. Bobby from Expo Portal is just a great guy. We had fun despite the non-4-wheeling west loop which was our way down from the top. They must keep grading that thing! Boo! WE climbed Rice via the very steep east loop. Switchbacks and washouts were aplenty. The last VERY steep and loose climb to the Peak was handled easily by both trucks. I locked the rear to save my tires. Bobby's XJ had a limited-slip rear diff, though he was right behind me. Way to go Bobby! Hopefully we'll see you again out there and soon! Trail rating today...Half the trip is a 2.5, the east loop ascent is up to a 3+, just like the last mile up is to the summit.
