Tundra.... Would you switch from a new Ram Powerwagon?

Ram is dodge. It's not it's own company. Maybe if you searched a little you would see.

That's about as accurate as saying that Buick is Chevrolet.

Holy crap two different things
Go acquired Buick, Pontiac, Chevrolet etc.
they were all an independent company that gm bought. Chrysler "split" dodge into two different companies. Dodge and ram. Where do you purchase Rams? At a dodge dealer. There is not a separate stand alone ram dealer as there is stand alone Pontiac or Buick or what have you.
All Rams up until 2009 had dodge on it.

Your logic is flawed. But from your posting, I realize there will be no educating you as your mind is made up.

And I say your logic is flawed . And I'm willing to bet there will be no educating you as your mind is made up.
Oh well
We can agree to disagree

I don't think his logic is flawed I think dodge ram not just ram. That's like saying super duty is it's own entity. Or silverardo is it's own. It may well be I see the ram sign at the dodge dealer. But it's a DODGE anyway you slice it.

That logic is worse. Ram is now its own legal entity, like it or not.

You're going to just keep throwing a tantrum until you get your way aren't you?

Hey guys, I am sorry I started this small point of contention. I have my opinion, but either way, the discussion at hand is more concerning the two trucks than the Branding of either.

I actually took my Ram into the Toyota dealership I work for yesterday for an oil change and inspection. It felt great to see the techs under it talking about how beefy the suspension is and how nice it was. I was reassured by them that that truck is very stout and though the Tundra is a sweet truck, my Ram is a better choice for my application.
One thing that I was surprised at was that after 34,000 miles (yes in 11 months) my front brake pads are at 12mm! In 34000 miles I have only rotated tires, changed the oil 4 times and swapped the air filter. I'm very happy about that! I love the look of the Tundra, but I am sticking with my Ram.

Ok let me break this down Barney style

Chryco split dodge into two groups
Ram and dodge. Not the same thing as claiming it's like Pontiac or Buick or any other gm brand. Those were all separate brands that came under gm umbrella. I really hope this isn't too difficult to grasp. If it is, I'm at a loss at how to further break it down.

I switched from Ram to Tundra. I have never looked back such an awesome mountain truck and an amazing tight turning truck, I have nothing but love for my tundra.

My problem with the Tundra is that while it has a big rear axle and wheel bearings etc. it does not have a boxed frame and the rear step bumper is super thin metal. Almost all domestic made trucks today have fully boxed frames and their step bumpers are way more substantial than the Tundra's. What's the big deal about a step bumper you ask? If you use a truck as a truck a sturdy rear bumper is a must for many reasons including protecting the rear fenders from accidental damage. A tundra step bumper will fold as easily as a fender, not impressed with that.
Tundra mileage is as disappointing as Ecoboost mileage is to F150 owners. I know 2 previous Tundra owners who dumped them because of their disappointment in the mileage and other quality issues. Conversely I know another friend with a 1st generation Tundra and he loves it. I asked him last trip what he would replace it with and he said probably a Chevy, his son bought one and he drove it for a week and loved it. I asked about a new Tundra and his reply was no way, why, lousy mileage.

I had a 2010 ram 2500 diesel and switched to a 14 tundra. I prefer the tundra for many reason. There is a lot of hidden expenses I did not realize with the ram. The tundra rides better, bit smaller, way more reliable. But it's a half ton so that's what I expected. When lifting the ram there's a lot to it, in order to do it right. Aftermarket trac bar, steering stabilizers, control arms, steering brace, sway bar, shocks, springs, shackles. and more .those all add up in cost. Plus the ball joints suck and have to be replaced often. Tranny issues along with emissions issue I was starting to have with the diesel at the time due to the dpf.

I would only get a ram if towing something big or a hard side camper. However, I do like the aev ram but it's still a ram and a big truck . I prefer my tundra with a OME lift and 35s. I Feel it's a good compromise between a tacoma and a 2500 truck.

Get a manual transmission like I did and your transactions issues go away. Replace factory ball joints with Carli joints with lifetime warranty, no more buying ball joints. There are a lot of complicated pieces to every lift kit, so that's a moot point. I'd say all your points aren't really valid, as they are easily remedied.

Those super sweet boxed frames are just a fad. Look at all heavy duty trucks made, they all have c channel frames. Why is an f250 and above a c channel? Only the f150 is boxed?
