Where are you going for Labor Day?

I usualy try to avoid the holiday weekend crowds. I am needing a get away though so I might haul my trailer up the Rice Peak road on the back side of Mt Lemmon just for a quick one night stay Sunday night.

I should be able to get up around 7000 Ft and into much cooler temps. Hopefully be able to enjoy one of the last thunderstorms with a view as the monsoon season winds down.

Well, I usually try and avoid major holiday weekends like the plague, but I just booked a flight to Dallas, TX. One way travel as I am driving a Land Cruiser back to Colorado. It's a VERY long story but I am really excited about owning this particular truck......... again! I'll write more about the history of it and my adventure when I get home.

Safe travels to all.

Driving over to Silver City, New Mexico, to pick up my new scooter, then back to Tucson, do some heat cycles, put armor on it, then Sunday and Monday, help work on a race course my club is putting on in San Manuel, a little ex-mining town on the North side of Mt. Lemmon, Arizona. The locals are excited to bring a little revenue into their town.

Busy, busy, weekend....I normally stay home during holiday weekends.

Right now we have no plans... it's just too busy everywhere.

but.. our air conditioning just went out and it wont be fixed till Tuesday.. and right now it's a 106-110 where we live.

I think im going to hang out in the frozen food section with my camp chairs :(

Sucks about the AC. Leave EARLY tomorrow AM and meet us up at Kernville. From there we'll head up Kennedy Meadows area where it should be cooler and less congested.

Tim and Kelsey get lost..
I'm headed to the much cooler much prettier desert in TUCSON!
It sounds weird to say, but that 10 degrees and rain you guys are getting makes all the difference. I'm going to do a couple trails, go the back way up mt lemmon and definately BBQ and jump in the pool!
If anyone wants to do a run, just let me know.
Any MTN bikers down there. I was thinking about doing a trail. I miss 50 year and fantasy island trail!!! :chowtime:

Damn nice bike. I like the light 2 stroke ktm's, but when I come into a turn and expect the motor to brake for me... OOPS!
Maybe I'll try one someday, but I am so 4 stroke conditioned in my mind! :wings:
That thing is rad enjoy!!

Cool, say Hi to ET for us.:shakin:

Apparently, a recent 10 day trip to Oregon to see the grandparents and the first week of 1st grade has worn my Elliot out. When I asked him if he wanted to go to South Dakota and see Mt. Rushmore, he said he just wanted to hang out at home with Dad, watching movies and eating popcorn in his 'jammies' all weekend.

So the presidents & aliens will have to wait. I've got more important things to do......

I think it was 105 today, it is green, from all of the rain. I was out at 10:00 am chainsawing a blow down for a friend...I could only take an hour of the heat...at least I got the work done before I bailed.

What day are you going up the back side? Going through Redington or Oracle?

If you are going Sunday, I wouldn't mind joining. I went for a hike on Lemmon with the dog on Monday in the rain, it was beautiful. I am only going to Silver City for the day.

I still have the single speed, still too hot for me to ride.

From working outside this morning, (Hot!!!) I am going to bail on trail maintenance on Sunday.

the cooler weather will be a bliss AND I'm going to try out my revempt m416 trailer w/ the RTT.

I will be working. and the week after that I will have a random day off.
