I started with 31x11.50s, didn't notice anything. I drive slower than grandma anyway, so it's not a big deal to me, just the people behind me :bike_rider: When I had the Rusty's shocks on the back it was like riding a waterbed, slow and bouncing like mad.

It's been a long time since she's been off road. Last couple of times, she busted fuel lines.. twice. I'll eventually swap axles instead of regearing 35s.

Sounds reasonable. My bump to 4.10s was a regeared D30 and a 8.8 install. The D30 got swapped with a Rubi D44 when I found I could get the housing/gears/locker cheaper than doing an ARB in the D30.

With the AW-4 4 speed, 4.10s, and 33s it was nice to drive. I could easily break both rear wheels loose with the throttle going around corners and drift the Jeep.

I went from a stock running gear, modded motor 05 Nissan Frontier 6speed stick, approx +-280hp, +-300lb/ft to a stock engine 4.10 geared, lifted, bumpered, skid'd 2002 Taco quad cab automatic. It weighs more, and has about 100 less hp.
Do I care, not at all because the truck goes more places that I want it to go. I will buy another sport bike if I get the urge.

I have limited sympathy for you, since I have a 4.0 with a 3spd, 3.07s and 33s.

:p

Trifecta of death. 0-60 in 3 weeks flat. :yikes:
Wow, that might actualy be slower then my 22RE with 4.10's and 33x10.50's... I never thought I'd ever get to say that [- sniffle -] :D

Cheers

I read that right? You swap a Chokie AW4 into a TJ? How'd that go?

'01 4L w/5 speed and 30" A/T @ 10,000 feet

For every 1,000 feet of elevation, you lose about -3% HP. At 10,000 feet you've lost 30%. In the case of the Jeep 4L, you only had about 170HP when it was brand new.

On a recent long overland, I was down shifting at higher elevations and changing over to the right hand lane to pull long grades just like the loaded 18 wheelers.

The 4L isn't perfect, gas milage isn't anything to brag about and it could use 30-40 more HP, but it is reliable, aftermarket is good and they are about 1/3 the cost of any new 4x4 on any lot.

Besides, my old stock TJ has cache out the wahzoo. Change the oil, filters, put gas in it and it'll haul your ashes to the end of the earth and back...just not real fast uphill, loaded and at altitude.
