I cant decide which size tire for my willys i want skinny KM2s i either want 225/75R16 or 235/85R16 i would really like a 31x9.50 but the only tire ive seen that in is a super seamper and a 15 inch rim. What do yal suggest?

In my opinion, wide tires are going to create a lot of problems for you both in drivability without power steering and also the possibility of breaking an axle. This guy mounted 215/85r16 duratracs. have you looked into those? Pretty popular anyways.

There are also firestone destination tires in 215/85r16

I am really looking into Cooper Discoverer AT3s for my willys when my stock type NDTs wear out.

you want springs from these guys http://www.holbrookspecialties.com and Super Swamper 32x9.50x15 mud tires. Cheapest is not the best way to get the best bang for your buck, trust me.

I put some Rancho 2.5" springs on my 2A years ago and they gave it plenty of room for 31" tires.

I believe your transmission is a T-90A with a 2.73 first gear ratio. If you swap out the gear cluster and main drive gear for gears from a T-90C tranny it will lower your first gear to 3.33. It makes a difference when taking off from a stop. 3rd gear remains the same at 1:1. Go too tall a tire and your third gear won't be able to maintain speed (especially with a small four cylinder engine).

I also strongly recommend a Warn OD. Not only is it an OD beyond third gear, but it is a gear splitter so you can split from first to second, and between second and third (which I find myself using a lot). Lots of time second gear is too low, and third is too high. Same between first and second gear off-road.

I really like both of yals willys! I think im gunna go with Cragar Soft 8s 15x7" and then run 30x9.50 KM2s and get a 1" superlift, and i will also have to get me some diamond plate corners and rocker panels! I really like them! This is what i got done today...

Little bit of progress there, looking good! I totally agree about the overdrive. I was just out today and 40 is sort of mashing it as much as I feel good about. Sort of shot myself in the foot with a rear pto and now I wish I had put in Overdrive instead.

X3 on the overdrive!

And modify the shifter to alow 2 wheel low. Comes in handy when you need to turn tight with manual steering off road.

There is an interlock pin between the shifter rails. Removal of this interlock allows for the added function of 2wd/Low to the 18 - if you have the "twin-stick" version.

Good to see another flattie owner on here. Having a V6 and 5:38 gears, an OD works quite well for me. I know for years I have been reading about removing the interlock on the twin sticks. I've broken an axle shaft and destroyed a Powerlock unit in 2WD. I prefer to run in 4X4. Just a bit easier on the system when you are off road.

I've got the interlock thing removed from my transfer case and find 2-wheel low comes in very handy at times. Especially when carefully trying to back the Jeep into the garage slowly.

Looking good.

Please make sure no one is around with sensitive ears when you install that floor pan. I put one in a 3b a couple of years ago and had a tough time getting everything to align. Large hammer, grinder, welder, and a fair amount of expletives got it done.
