Winnebago EKKO

OK, we actually got to drive one of the Sprinter Ekko units last week. It was at a La Mesa dealer in Stuart FL. Not sure whether it is really a production unit, or one of the prototypes, but the dealer offered to sell it to us for $178,000. Had about 1,500 miles on the ODO. Overall, it looks a bit more off-road worthy than the Transit models. The longer beds are nice for a 6'+ person and the layout of the dinette area is quite a bit better. It drove fine on our short drive. We only got up to about 70, but it seemed stable and quiet. Not a race car, but adequate power and the brakes felt good also. At half the price of anything like the Terranova, or the Rossmonster Baja and really less than most of the Sprinter Vans from Storyteller, etc. it may be an option if you don't need real offroad.
1500 mi is the delivery from Iowa to FL.

Was this layout the one with the seats that face each other. Did you sit in them? My kids wouldn't be able to do the floor plan with the seats right next to each other. It would be constant bickering if they accidentally touched elbows or something.

Well a diesel fired water heater and furnace would negate the need for the Truma and propane all together. It looks like it has more ground clearance but camera optics/angles can sway lie.. As for Sprinter vs Transit? For me it's looks mostly. I find the Transit to be a little... well I'll be honest. that front end is dumb looking. Sprinter looks more upscale and sleeker. Now a diesel transit with a half decent lift/tire combo would be equally interesting to me.
we did a timberline conversion in our sprekko. Easy peasy

I have 3/4 of my 4 person-1 dog family saying the Ekko 23B Mercedes is the one. The kids are loving it thinking we can do ski trips too. That garage is my jam. My wife wants the space of a Class A in a Class C so she's not loving it. The rest of us are ok living out of it, not in it. I wish they made this floor plan on the Transit chassis, but alas I'm not getting any younger.

Somebody previously posted a $178k price in Florida. Anyone have any great deals they are seeing?

My other plan was to get a Tiffin GH1 class B and tow a cheap lightweight trailer with the family for camping and switch out the trailer when my son and I go atv/utv/dirt biking.

Recvan had them with $178775 on the windshield at the March van show in Del Mar, so that seems like the 'actual' price.

I have my eye on one for retirement travel in a year or so.

OK, here is a modified Ekko that looks interesting from Owl vans. They are talking about $237,000 or so I think.

And this is a video explaining what they have done.
