I am looking to upgrade my stock headlights. I have read some posts about autopal and Hellas H4 conversions. Does anybody have any advice on the matter?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I *love* the -inch round Hella H4 lights. Had them for years in my 1981 Toyota Pickup, and I sure wish I had the great optics of that system in my 2001 Tacoma. Anyone's H4 conversion, but especially Hella, highly recommended.

IIRC, the H4 conversions should be a simple replacement for your existing lamps in your Range Rover. Shouldn't take more than 30 minutes to swap out existing lamps for your new H4's.

You can get amazing lighting by just doing what was recommended above. Put in some relays so the voltage goes direct from the battery instead of traveling through the switch. This alone will improve your lights AND make your headlight switch last longer. Next go with some high quality lights like the Hella or Cibie H4's. These have a super clean cutoff of the light pattern so you can run 80/100 bulbs instead of the 55/60 watt bulbs that are stock. The key is in how sharply you can aim the lights. A quality lense will allow you to run the bigger wattage bulbs without blinding oncoming traffic. This is a great resource for improved lighting: http://www.danielsternlighting.com/
I have run some of the HID conversions and they are nice but seem to cause more glare than a well setup H4 with good bulbs.
hope this helps

That's because very few of the conversions are legal (so have all the right components), rather than the hack jobs that they are.I have run some of the HID conversions and they are nice but seem to cause more glare
