HEEELLLP!!!
OK, I have a 05 TJ, and I was working on putting some OEM switches for Aux Off road lights. These were existing lights and switches when I bought it. They tapped into a red wire (approx. 16 – 18 ga.) which is in a loom, just under the steering wheel. When I was trying to identify the power lead to the aux light switch, and the power to the relay (they were both red), I caused a short and blew a fuse or something resulting in no gauges, starter, radio, turn signals. I do have head lights, high beams and dash lights.
I have checked all of the fuses, which appear to be ok (at least visually). I have tried to trace the wire, but I lose it in the loom behind the dash. I did remove the fuse block behind the glove box to look at the wires going in; however, I don’t see the red wire that I believe is the problem. So I am not sure where it goes, but I know it must go to power somewhere.
Can anyone offer any help? I missed a jeep today because of this. Any help would be “GREATLY” appreciated.
