Thanks for capturing the Gini illuminated with the Snowpeak Snowminer in "lantern" mode. Neat picture.

Water bottle what? We don't need no water bottles!
When is the next trip? Let's go!

You buy new tires yet? I'm up in Santa Barbara for work next week. Memorial Day is coming up in a bit which is a nice 3 day weekend for something.

That reminds me, don't forget, the next time you pass through Bishop, make sure you go visit Mountain Light Gallery.

No new tires yet...still shopping but I'm probably gonna go for the same size as before until I can save enough for a suspension upgrade. I have a dilemma with that too since I have a hookup at Camburg but also am interested in OME all around.

So here are several edited images...

Seems I wound up in spot 2 most of the trip. Not intentional by any means.

Roads traveled
CincoDeInyo2012-18760.jpg

Again many thanks to everyone on this trip. I now know a few roads that I have seen time and time again while heading to Big Pine on the way home from Death Valley. Looking forward to another trip up to the Inyos soon, slower pace for a photo mission. See you on the trails.

Thank you Nathan. Sorry you weren't able to venture out with us but word is that things are looking up and you will have a rig soon!

I don't really feel they are on par with my past efforts. I recently picked up a polarizing filter and am enjoying it but it does have a slight learning curve I need to get used to. I also didn't bring all my batteries for my SLR so thankfully on our second day's outing I charged my one battery with the inverter in the truck bed.

Thanks Eric! Being in the 2nd spot in the convoy let you get a photo that I asked about. I like the one of the trailer R-tick-U-lating. :smiley_drive:

What I learned the hard way about my polarizing filter is to always rotate it clockwise! I almost left it behind in the snow at the Bristlecone Pine Forest!

Oh I have that part down, and usually leave it set when shooting horizontal or vertical and then 90 degrees when changing from one to the other.

And in the aftermath, the tire was replaced free-of-charge thanks to the Discount Tire Damage Repair Certificate. I love wonderful customer service! :26_7_2:

For those who were not there, what you can't see in this pic is the 4" gash in the sidewall of the tire.

I just did the math and discovered that I turned nearly 17mpg on our convoy from OC to Lone Pine. :)
You Toyota people probably have a blank look on your faces, but I didn't think that was possible in my 135k mi, roof racked, 5.8 Bronco. Yet another reason that I should give up the idea of 33" tires.

HAHAHAHA.......brother I get 12mpg no matter what I have on my rig.......I wish I got 17 that would be awesome.
