They do have a full line of knobby tire bikes. However, a dude could do an Ironman on that roadie. Know what I mean?![]()
I believe one of the reasons for limited U.S. availability is the Horst link patent issues. KTM bikes have used 4-bar linkages which means they either pay Specialized a tribute or they do not distribute in the U.S. For 2013 they have gone to a single pivot and so maybe expanding the line to roadies is part of the introduction here.
Kermit, they are made in Taiwan AFAIK, likely Giant. There are some unique things, KTM head tubes have some special thing that is supposed to distribute forces better. But Giant makes 3/4 of all carbon frame out there, maybe more.
I don't either for sure (assuming Flounder will), but bikes coming out of their factory speak Italian, German, English and Spanish and so I am just assuming. I doubt most brand names will be totally open about this.Thanks Dave, I assumed it was Giant, but didn't know for sure.
