Can it charge 2 iPad's or an iPad and something else? I have a dual usb chager cig adapter and it can only charge one ipad by itself or 2 iphones/ipods. Is each usb outlet rated for 2.1 amps or is it 2.1a total?

Either way it looks like it'd be a nice addition to the DRZ :)

I'm Checking on the iPad question. 2.1A is the total output for the plug not the individual sockets, If you only use one socket the output is 2.1A. According to Blue Sea "the 1016 talks to Apple products and according to their protocol, will limit the output to 1.0A for that socket." I'll post up once I get a definite response on if it will charge 2 iPads.

apparently there are larger capacity batteries for iPads so they would take longer to charge than the stock battery if the current is limited

We have these in the truck and trailer. They work great and charge our iPad and smartphones at the same time. Funny, I just had a few more arrive today from Wil at Sierra for friends.

If each of the USB sockets can output only 1 Amp then the iPad will charge at a rate much slower than the wall charger which outputs 2 amps

True ^ when using a iPad (Apple products) Blue Sea inputs a recognition code limiting the output to the iPad (Apple products) to 1A. If will charge the iPad fully but it will require more time due to limit of 1A. Any products other then Apple products can get the full 2.1A for a single plug but the device is still limited to a max output of 2.1A.
