Yes, but it all depends on your actual use for the vehicle. There are other mods I would do first, but if you plan to spend lots of time in mud and water, its good advice (as well as waterproofing everything else that needs attention). Personally, I've just avoided the worst of these situations while I make other protection modifications. To each his own. Make a logical decision, stay out of the mall parking lot, and enjoy your toy without worry for what other think.
