OME Suspension for 2004 Tacoma

I'm sure someone on here will tell me to do a search and I will find something about this. I would like to know opinions on OME suspension for a 2004 Tacoma. I am not planning on having a front(ARB) or rear (CBI) bumper anytime soon, so I know I don't need the HD setup(I don't believe). I am looking for maybe 2.5" - 3" worth. I used to have a 2003 Taco with a Fab-Tech 6" suspension lift(from the Previous Owner) and I don't want anything ever closely related to that ever again. ABSOLUTELY HATED IT! I now have a platform to work with, and put whatever I want on there. Any ideas, or what people are currently using would be most appreciative. It doesn't necessarily have to be OME either. I am looking to spend $700 or so, seems reasonable I think. No rock crawling or anything. Just enough lift to throw some 255/85/16 under one day (yes I have read all about Expedition's West thread).

I have had OME suspension on every Toyota I have had, fj80, 4runner and I think they are a great set up but I ended up switching it out in the 4runner for more adjustability , spent the money twice. I too just bought a 03 taco and was going to go that route but wanted the same tire size as you but went with an all pro set up.

It is cheaper than the high end stuff but more than OME, I would vote to check out allpro. So far I am very happy with the set up. 700 front and 500 rear it's not much more. Plus if you want to add a bumper later you can upgrade the spring rate of the all pro fronts and the rear standard springs hold a lot of weight .

Just my 0.02.

Here is how it looks with the allpro set up.

I am running OME coils up front with AALs and a "1 block in the back with Bilstein 5100s all the way around. I love the ride empty or full of a lot of camping gear. I have the medium OME springs and no heavy bumper in front.

I like your RTT rack cruisermansd. My fab guy and I are going to build a similar one in a week or so. The one I am using is over-built and heavy. It is just above the bedisdes. I want to get the top of the tent level with teh cab roof too.

100% biased but I started as an OME user long before we were fencing pallet loads of it :D

I have the OME setup on my 2004 Tacoma just as I did on my 1996 Tacoma before that, on top of that we have sold and installed hundreds of OME Tacoma setups over the years. Very, very few issues. It is hard to beat the reliability and longevity of the OME setups. While it should come as no surprise that there are higher performance adjustable and tuneable coilovers on the market, they prove themselves in the desert at speed with regular rebuild intervals. Doesn't make them the wrong answer for anyone, but it surely doesn't make them the right answer for many either. The winters are rough here in Utah and it is VERY common to see annual issues with adjustable coilovers if daily driven on our salty roads. For an overland truck use, the OME really shines as they have been 'overlanding' long before it was the hype here in the States.

To add some flavor, my 04 DC w/OME F&R. Just about 100k on many of the OME components

Kurt,
What does an OME setup like the one you have run? I will admit that I don't really know what part #'s I am looking for, or what setup to go with. I live extremely close to Slee Off Road, and am thinking they would be the best bet for the install. If I lived in UT, I would probably head your way.

Best bet in that scenario would be to contact Christo Slee and discuss the kit offerings and pricing. Our base kit pricing is all current on our website but it may not be the same kit Slee recommends and as they are doing the install you would be wise to discuss your build plans with them and get their suggestion for parts.
