There are a couple of decent D1 trail rig candidates on Discoweb right now:

High miles but no sunroofs, and the price is right.

Not a bad candidate either.

Trevor's is also likely as described and a good candidate for a trail rig too.

Both are likely as described which is important since we are talking about older Rovers, that said they are simple to work on and robust.
Happy hunting!

ive had something similar happen to me. Arranged in the morning to purchase a 109 pickup. After work, I was in the car on my way when i called the seller to give him a heads up. He told me he sold it earlier. people suck.

good luck with your search! and rhino line away. not sure why anyone would give anyone a hard time about that. maybe thats why some jeep guys dont like rover guys. Not sure you were looking for a snarky lesson on how paint protects metal.

I've been on both sides of that sort of deal. Just this year I sold a motorcycle and a log spliter and both times I had many calls with people saying they want it. On the bike it was strictly first come, first served. On the spliter I didn't specifically say I would hold it but I did tell all later callers somebody else was already coming. Then he didn't show up. I felt like I'd screwed myself by putting off 3 or 4 other solid leads. In the end it turned out fine as he did come just not until the next morning and paid asking price. But still, if you haven't put money on the deal to hold it I don't think you can make a claim.

All the same, sorry you didn't get the rig. The orange was pretty cool. But D1s aren't too hard to find and I'm sure you'll turn one up.

I too have been there for what it is worth. I put my faith in him as we were both military people and even went so far to ask about jack and tire iron. Did not care they did not have them but i wanted to make sure i had one for the 2 hour ride home.

I am a big believer in Karma however, and as we said in the military, Karma can be a mother f@@ker.
