Filson Bags - Available For Sale?

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know if the behind-the-seat Filson bespoke bags for the Brute Double Cab are available for sale anywhere? https://www.filson.com/aev-brute

I've used the 'Contact Us' on Filson's page and thought I would post here too.

I can find other Filson bags (typically provided with the Wrangler) on Quadratec's site, but not the ones for the Brute.

AEV probably has an exclusive licensing arrangement with Filson.

Your best bet would probably be to contact AEV.

Filson stuff is pretty terrible actually. If you get it wet it shrinks like crazy and doesn't fit anymore.

I was at bass pro and they had a brand of similar looking bags that were corduroy instead of canvas. Nicer looking quality and cheaper. Buy three small ruck sacks and cut/mod the straps to work.

But it doesn't say Filson on it!

What I like about the Filson is it is custom made to fit the space behind the rear seat which is quite tight in a Brute. Because they hang you get a better use of space as well.

If I can't get them, or if they want too much for them, I plan on going to a local boatie upholsterer to have some made from marine grade canvas. I'll have them make various sized pockets or slats.

My wife has an embroidery machine so I might be able to convince her to make identifying patches for each pocket. E.g. A Red Cross where the First Aid kit would go, etc.

Seriously, don't waste your money. A girlfriend got me the duffle one year for my birthday. I used it maybe a dozen times and when I say used I wasn't packing it in and out of a rover in the african bush. More like in and out of rental cars and weekend guys trips for birthdays, bachelor parties etc. The stitching was **** then one of the rivets that held one of the handles came off. Also the leather strap had some weird coating on it that leeched into a $110 dress shirt from 15 min on my shoulder. After contacting them and paying to send the bag in they said it was damaged due to "extreme use" and wanted $110 to fix it. I told them **** off and keep your bag. I've had the same north face waterproof duffle for almost 6 years now that has been around the world three times via planes, trains and automobiles and not treated kindly and it's still in one piece. And that bag cost $80 on closeout sale. Just my experience.

Wow...thanks for sharing. I'm considering other options, including a bespoke piece made by a local shop and custom embroidered by my wife. Keeps her involved in the mods

You might consider having Adventure Tool Company make a custom piece for you. They are on these forums quite a bit. I have some of their tool roll stuff and it is very sturdy, and very well made. In fact, compared to the Filson products I have (I'm an old timer and have quite a bit od Filson around here), the ATC products seem to be made of stouter fabric.

First time I've ever heard a bad thing about Filson. Water does not hurt it but the clothes dryer will. Used my Filson Pullman bag with a suit in in for an overnighter in San Fran just yesterday. I love their stuff. Looks like the wool stocking hat I bought last year is cut big enough to handle a dryer but I'm not ready to test the theory. Buy it once and own it for life. The warrenty is lifetime.
