Technical question on 98 Montero sr

I'm having issues with the automatic transmission in my 98 full size montero (190k miles) the car drove fine all day until the very evening when I went to drive it home, after driving it for half a mile I came to a complete stop and when I started to take off (in drive) the transmission started to completly slip, it will go up to about 3k rpms and barely move a foot. Reverse, 2nd gear and low works just fine. So I'm at a loss here. I assume low is first gear so I'm assuming it isn't the clutch packs, could it be a solenoid? And opinions on help is appreciated.

If a clutch pack was burnt. Then I feel like low or 2nd or reverse would have issues as well. What do you think?
Previous owner said he doesn't remember what fluid he used

Change the fluid and use the spec stuff, then go from there. Cheapest & easiest round-1 troubleshooting you can do.

After a little digging around me and the previous owner did establish that it was oe fluid used. So I'm taking a stab in the dark and ordered some solenoids. Wish me luck boys haha

OE fluid meaning SP3 or Dexron. Reason I ask is because the owner's manual in my 98 specified to use Dexron. I noticed the trans shifted way smoother with SP3.
