Can't wait to see the pics! I actually stumbled across your YouTube when I was poking around looking at stuff for my Rav.

Recognized the '66' on your doors right away.

I had a little adventure on my trip to Colorado.

Being a member on the San Juan Mountains forum, a couple posted that they needed an item transported from Dallas, TX to Ouray, CO. On their post, they said they were willing to compensate generously.

I came across the post and was intrigued. I saw many people had offered to do the job for them. I reached out to them that I could do the job for them. After they got convinced that I was a real person, they accepted that they would like me to do the job for them.

I got off work at 7:30 pm. Drove for 4.5 hours and got to their address at midnight. The husband helped me load up my car with the items. I left and drove an hour and got a hotel and went to sleep. I woke up at 6 am and drove for 9 hours to my next destination for the night. I got the easiest access motel I could find for the night.

The next day I drove 5 hours to their address where I had to drop off the packages. The couple who had flown over the day after I picked up the packages were there waiting for me. Very nice people. The wife gave me a tour of their very beautiful mansion with views that people can only dream of. She gave me snacks and even went an extra mile to help me sell my Jerry Can. She even bought a Jerry Can from me just because I had them woth me. She was really being very kind to me. Then she gave me the very generous compensation and they thanked me very much for delivering the packages for them. I thanked them too for the very generous compensation.

Thank you very much again Kim and John.

There are some really very awesome people out there. They gave me a snack pack and I was off to have lunch and check into my hotel for the night.

Tomorrow is the beginning of Jeep Jamboree here in Ouray. So after lunch today, I went to check out the Jeep registration. I might as well familiarize myself with the Jeeps since I will be meeting a lot of them on the trail tomorrow.

I have decided I am doing these trails and I will meet a lot of Jeeps on the trail because I plan to take my time since I need to take some videos and pictures. They will be faster in their groups, so they will pass me up. But I hope to get on the trail before them.

Friday:
Imogene Pass. Ouray to Telluride
Ophir Pass. Ophir to Ouray

Saturday;
Black Bear Pass. Yes. I am doing the whole of Black Bear Pass including the steps. Except the weather does not permit, I will brave my fears and take this Rav4 down Black Bear Pass steps. I will need to make a video, so I will be slow.
Last Dollar Road

Sunday:
Engineer Pass, California Pass, Cinnamon Pass, Animas Forks.

I made a stop at the Jeep registration boot and it was packed. So there will be a ton of Jeeps on the trails this weekend of serious wheeling.

Let us see how this Rav4 tackles Imogene Pass, Black Bear Pass and Engineer Pass. I hope I can drive it home with no damage (or only little scratches) on it.

Here are a few pictures of the Jeeps doing their registration.

It is official. It is now written in my own Guness Book of Records. First Rav4 Prime to complete Black Bear Pass. I did the whole of Black Bear Pass today morning solo. No spotters and no help. All alone on the trail.

I did it solo. I saw one Jeep who quickly met me and passed me up. I took 3 hours from the top of Black Bear Pass to when I got to Telluride. It rained on me just before I got to the steps. I knew I was done for! There was no way for me to turn around. I was scared the whole time, but I had to finish the trail. All alone. I was my own spotter. I almost flipped my Rav4 2 serious times. The Rav4 took some serious beating. But we made it. Yes, there was damage.

It was a nightmare for me. I had to get out many times to spot myself. I had to stop many times to remove huge rocks on the road that were always hitting my under carriage very hard.

In the end, we made it. My lovely Rav4 is all bruised up in the stomach and even lost a panel! She protected me very well while being scratched up badly. Don't worry. I will get her brand new stuff all over again. I am proud of her. She will be back to perfection. Just give me a few months.

But I will NEVER do Black Bear Pass again. Me and her are through!

Here is the video I made at the steps. Unfortunately, my remote control fell after a big bump and stopped the recording. The footage is not long but it is good enough.

I almost did not make a video because my stress level was too high. I had too much work stopping to spot myself, second guessing my line and then trying to back up when I figured the line was not good enough. And then I had to remove a lot of huge rocks on the road that I could not get over because of not enough clearance. I am exhausted right now.

On US 59 before Gunnison, I came across this beautiful golden colors and I had to pul over. This is why I am on this short vacation. To chase Fall colors.

This car looks like a Panthera...Ford. 351C v8 engine! My dad had one back in time! AMAZING!

Where is this at...I want to go there!
That is at California Pass. in the San Juan Mountains. The lake is right there.

It is beautiful there. Please go. Start on Corkscrew Gulch. Then hit Hurricane Pass and then you getting California Pass where you meet this lake. That is a very scenic drives with a lot of hill climbing. If you are lucky like I was, you will see a Moose.

More pictures for you with my car in it.
