With a single drawer with a 38" width, even though it is 3/4" material, you may get some sag in the top of the box. If you are looking for strength and no sag two 19" drawers would be a lot more stout.

We are doing an Expo special on the composite drawer systems that are ordered between today and December 31st. We will pay the tax 7.75% or the equivalent if you live outside California.

They won't be available in time for Christmas, mid January delivery, but if you do order before Christmas I'll send you a Gift Voucher so you can put it in that special person's stocking.

:jumping: Bump for you guys...I have looked at these in person and they are very nicely made. The materials and hardware used are of very high quality. I will be picking up a set myself soon for the 80.

Placed my order the other day! Cant wait! I went with the composite because of its light weight. The 80 weighs enough as it is. I will be doing a write up on the assembly and install.:victory:

Very nice. I'm still waiting for mine. It's hard to tell, but it doesn't look like there is a provision to keep them locked open. Is that true?

I got in on a group purchase off of 'Mud on a few sets of factory bolts for the rear cargo area. Do you think or did you have to insert a "Sleeve" to prevent the material from crushing/compressing?

If you give them a good tap, how would you describe the sound that resonates back?

Do they rattle while you drive?

Your drawers will ship out on Monday.

The bolts for attachment are used with fender washers to prevent crushing.

As far as the drawers locking in an open position, this option was not available in a slide of this rating and quality. Mario has some great ideas on how to achieve the function you want. He'll let know know what he has planned next week.

If you give the drawers a good tap they sound much like a half pint of Bishop's Tipple on a hot summers day :D

The Slides they are using seem to have a notch to them in a couple of stages. I guess it would depend on the weight and incline you are on if they would be enough to keep it open. As far as waiting i think Mario is ready to ship these out on Monday. Im local to them so i nabbed mine hot off the press.
I used the provided hardware with the kit to attach them to the floor. I was able to tighten the hardware down pretty good and saw no signs of it compressing or splitting. So i personally dont think the need for a sleeve is needed.
As far as sounds goes you get a nice soild thud from the material. Doesnt sound or feel cheap by any means. As far as rattles i didnt hear a peep out of them. Heres a clip of a test run:smiley_drive:

Cornfused

Martyn,

I'm a bit confused. Do you offer the composite as well as the birch in "assemble yourself" versions? Perhaps I missed something, but I understood that the composite boxes came preassembled due to the nature of the material, and the birch were for those that wanted DIY?

I am fairly certain that they are offering both materials as a DIY kit. Mario or Martyn will hopefully chime in to clarify.
