Engel 35/45 Hinge Lock (35HLK)

Has anyone ever used one of these?

I have an ARB fridge that I want to lock the hinge on.

Does anyone have instructions or a picture of it installed?

Any opinions on it?

I use a hinge lock, Nathan. Little plastic tab functions as advertised. Not much else to say. I'm happy with it.

A must have item IMO.

Definitely a must have as the loose fit of the hinge pins on the fridge's lid allow the lid to move a bit and then the lid can fall off if your vehicle is off level to the right. Drove me nuts!

Must have is right. For what these fridges cost, they should come from the factory with a lid that stays on.

They should come with the latch standard. It is nice in some cases to be able to remove the lid easily.

My lid slips off occasionally even with the hinge lock. Not as much as pre-lock, but every now and then.

The lock looks like the plastic mold is made to split. Where does the other piece go?

I presume on the other hinge is that right?

Yes, the blank piece goes on the other hinge to act as a spacer.

Had the same problem myself, especially with the extra weight of a Two Zone, so doubled up and installed a a second lock, on the right hinge.

Correct. Remove the 2 screws holding the hinge to the body; place lock behind hinge; reattach screws. Repeat for the other side.
