Source These Aluminum Containers?

Hello:

Way back in the '70s I bought several of these small sealed aluminum containers from Early Winters. EW listed them as Japanese food containers. They're great for organizing small stuff that you want to protect from moisture and/or getting crushed. They are similar to the Sigg boxes, but smaller. I need some more of them, but I can't find them available. Anyone know of a source for these or something similar (I need aluminum rather than plastic)?

Thanks,

Howard Snell

I remember those from the catalogs.

I have similar ones made out of lexan that are red with a clear top from REI that came in a set of three or four varying sizes I bought back in the 80s.

As previous poster said - if Lexan will do REI should have just the ticket still in 3 sizes - I use these as dry boxes when kayaking and they have done the trick for me

Didn't Early Winters describe these as sushi or bento boxes? I have several, a couple that have served as first aid kits, another as a sewing kit.

Lock & Lock is an Asian brand of plastic food containers with a rubber seal that might be nearly as good, and much cheaper. Korean groceries, in particular, carry a full line.

GSI Outdoors has marketed a line of lexan boxes in about the same size range.
