hey all...

i'm trying to find a cargo rack/tonneau combination... the rack is a must have for kayaks and i'd like a folding tonneau to secure gear...

i've found a few online but nothing that's to my liking yet... if anyone knows of, has such or can offer some advice i'd certainly appreciate it...

Get a rolling hard tonnaeu that fits BETWEEN the bed rails, and find a rack that attaches on TOP of the rails... and you are set. Or, make something....

This might fit the bill also... Just like chasespeed said...

It is a rollbak cover with trac rac sliding rack mount. http://www.rollbaktonneaucover.com/

Or these folks have one like you're looking for already built.

Take a look at the Daimondback covers.

I have one (the standard duty) and LOVE it. You can fine them much cheaper on-line then straight from the factory. When I bought mine retail locally and from Diamondback was about $1350, I got my on-line for $950 including shipping. Well worth the price (and I'm a cheap SOB), as I priced the diamond plate alone to build one and materials were $600+, without all the fancy stamping, bending, welding.
If you deside to get one, drop me an email. I have a discount code that will get you a $50 rebate from the factory, no matter who you buy it from.

I've been lookin' at a setup like this also. The place that did my Line-X quoted me $650 for the Access rollback cover with the tall stanchions.

all of these are ones i've been considering... really good choices...

the bakflip & access (even though it's soft) are top of the list...
hard part seems to be finding a combination that works together if
they don't come as a set...

wish i had the facility/ability to fabricate something... i have some yakima bars & attachments so compatability is a small concern...

The rollbac and trac rac are two separate pieces. I would say that would be your best bet if you want to be able to buy in stages or if you want to be able to take the rack portion off easily for a hard cover. It also looks like the access one does the same.

seems like all the racks work with soft covers... i'm hoping to find a hard, folding one...

BAKflip & Extang i like...

a good rack is top priority for the kayaks... yakima compatible second... then tonneau cover...
