Here's a link to a writeup I found while doing a search a while ago. Can't really remember where I found it. There were links to pictures, but all were removed. I didn't take any, but it's pretty easy.

110V Outlet Should ask you to open or save as a Word doc.

Well, after going back and forth on what to do with the rear springs, I finally got it together and am pleased with the result.

Last year, I installed a set of custom Alcans. I went through a lot of grief with trying to figure out how to deal with my newly acquired vibrations. They weren't really bad, but they were annoying the heck out of me.

I ended up taking them off, putting the stock springs back on, going to the dealership, and having the rear leaf spring TSB done.

That was ok, but not what I really wanted; better ride, a little more lift, more articulation.

While thinking what I wanted to do, I figured out about how much weight I carry in the truck on trips. I sent the springs back to Alcan, and had them built up to carry an extra 300 lbs. I must say that Charles and the gang are awesome.

I finally put them back on today with a set of Bilstein 5100's. I am so pleased. I have about 1 1/2" - 2" of lift, great ride, and the best part of all is that I have not one vibration! No shims, no carrier bearing spacer, nothing. The only thing that is different on the truck is that after I had the TSB springs put on, I complained of a slight vibration (I actually had a very slight one with the TSB springs). They ended up putting on a completely new driveline, carrier bearing, and did the TSB that came out for a low speed vibration. Just have to adjust my front coilovers a little more.

No pictures though. It was snowing on and off and cold as heck. At least my garage was about 10 degrees warmer.

Yeah Phil,

I'm quite pleased.

The tire shop I go to a lot will let me drop the truck off for a couple of hours and they'll mount up a couple of 285 KM'2s for the front to see how they fit. The only thing I am concerned about is that with the wheels I have, they may rub on the UCA's. I have the FJ Cruiser SE wheels and they are 16x7.5 and I think the BS is 4.5. A little different from stock and I know the stocks don't work with 285's, so we will see. I really like these wheels so I don't think I want to get different ones. If that is the case, I may go to 255's. We will see.

I noticed you have an ARE cap on your bed. Which model is it? I haven't been overly impressed with the fit of most of the AREs I've seen, but yours looks great!

It's a Z-series. It has worked out well and I haven't had any leaking at all. The only thing I wish it had was the opening side windows.

Thanks for the info; great looking build!

Thank you. Things are slowly coming along.

I just bought an ARB compressor to mount under the hood, future air locker and a little on board air when necessary. Thinking about dual batteries, tires, and new rear bumper.

I really like these bumpers, I like certain features of both, so more thinking on what to do.

AllPro just came out with a pre-production model that is interesting too.

You could always get Steve at CBI to build you a bumper that features all the things you like about the others.

I love that bumper. Best I've seen on a Taco.

The $2500 price tag seems a bit steep though... :coffee:

HOLY !X&%:Wow1: I just about spewed coffee all over my computer! I think it's Steve at CBI for me.

I had to take two looks with what you said HMR. Not knocking Demello, but damn, that is insane! I paid less then $1,000 for my original one from Steve and quality work also.
