Well, after going back and forth on what to do with the rear springs, I finally got it together and am pleased with the result.
Last year, I installed a set of custom Alcans. I went through a lot of grief with trying to figure out how to deal with my newly acquired vibrations. They weren't really bad, but they were annoying the heck out of me.
I ended up taking them off, putting the stock springs back on, going to the dealership, and having the rear leaf spring TSB done.
That was ok, but not what I really wanted; better ride, a little more lift, more articulation.
While thinking what I wanted to do, I figured out about how much weight I carry in the truck on trips. I sent the springs back to Alcan, and had them built up to carry an extra 300 lbs. I must say that Charles and the gang are awesome.
I finally put them back on today with a set of Bilstein 5100's. I am so pleased. I have about 1 1/2" - 2" of lift, great ride, and the best part of all is that I have not one vibration! No shims, no carrier bearing spacer, nothing. The only thing that is different on the truck is that after I had the TSB springs put on, I complained of a slight vibration (I actually had a very slight one with the TSB springs). They ended up putting on a completely new driveline, carrier bearing, and did the TSB that came out for a low speed vibration. Just have to adjust my front coilovers a little more.
No pictures though. It was snowing on and off and cold as heck. At least my garage was about 10 degrees warmer.
