Do you have one of those thin superwinch faileads?
Those are rare anymore. I have the new fairlead that comes with the Husky (I have a Husky 10). It is a bit different - thicker rollers.
I need to look at the specs on a typical 3/8" rope, but there is a recommended minimum radius (bend). That is likely the reason for the new, larger diameter roller. Or, it could have nothing to do with that, and is just cheaper for Superwinch to use the same dia. roller material for all winches. . .
So that is just speculation at this point however, unless we want to dig into it a bit - any takers?
Loss of strength of 3/8" dyneema on a radius? What is the safe minimum radius?
