Sierra Expeditions is pleased to pass along the news that ARB has released a new line of camp chairs.

One of the biggest problems with camping chairs on the market today is that they are built to meet a price point which effectively means they are not built to last. So when ARB started looking for a camp chair, number one on the list of priorities was strength and durability. ARB looked to individually test many chairs and after several months ARB found the design that could stand up to the task. For extra strength and added comfort, ARB specified a chair that had aluminum arm rests and was slightly larger than the standard chairs on the market, but still compact enough to be folded and packed in a carry bag. For extra strength and packability, this chair features locking tabs to keep the chair folded when packed and locked for additional strength when assembled. Satisfied with the strength and durability, ARB is pleased to offer a chair that can stand up to the rigorous demands of our customers.

FEATURES

* Made from a durable nylon Oxford weave material with webbing binding
* Robust alloy frame
* Extruded aluminum arm rests for comfort and strength
* Locking catches for added frame strength

$60 a bit high on the chair, but for quality one is not that bad either.

:( Guys, why you are not closer to me......

Wow, not bad! I was looking at the OZ Tent chairs the other day... nice chairs but a bit more expensive.

The ARB chair looks very similar, but much cheaper...

Those chairs look very nice. The thing I don't like about the cheapie chairs is the seating position. These look to have more back support and a better seating position. How do they sit? My old abused back is very discriminating when it comes to camp chairs. I like the looks of these very much. We need a firsthand (or firstbutt) review of these chairs. I'd offer my services as reviewer but I dont rite or spel sew good.

Hey Wil, can you post up more photos (sides, rear, carrying bag, folded up, in carrying bag, etc.) either here or on your site or both.

Well, we just bought a new camp chair and it bit the dust on the first trip out. It's going back and maybe we'll pick up one of these. Heck, maybe a pair. Do you know if they come with a warranty that ARB is famous for? Let us know when they arrive.

How do these compare to the PICO's as far as wgt, space 4 need for storage and such...
My Picos have broken and I am looking at other options.

Agreed, they look very similar to the Oztent Kokoda Chair.

LOL, I am not sure as they are not expected to hit US soil until 1/20/10. I think there is only one or two floating around in the US as of now, and if I had to bet they are in WA somewhere.

I definitely will once we get our inventory.

ARB is still unsure of the warranty, but as with all products I am sure they will warranty against defects in manufacturing. Once I get a definite response, I will share that info.

How much does one weigh?

I think they are right around 8 lbs, but as mentioned, if it is close to the OZtent chair it will be around 7 lbs.

Good Dave. I'm skeptical of the plastic joints as this is the failure point of all similar looking chairs I've used or seen used.
Knowing ARB, if there is failures at the plastic parts, they will come out with a new version. I trust in the ARB name and reputation.

ARB is just a few blocks South of where I work.
I should try and stop in next week and see what they look like if they have them on display.

I would not mind a few of these to go along with my other chairs.
