Did a one nighter this past weekend in the Angeles National Forest. Good times and great weather.

Nice work! I'll be heading out this weekend as part of my new years resolution to camp each month of the year.

Snow camping is different but good!

Not really, they were kind of a pain..but not as bad as some i've seen. One tip would be wear gloves and a long sleeve shirt :D

Jim, we did run into a couple snow shoeing! We actually had to help them get their rig unstuck! They left it in a terrible spot and it was 2 wheel drive!

For us, its a fun thing to do. Even if some say we're crazy. What little know is if you're well prepared for the elements you can have a pretty good time camping in freezing conditions.

I get it! I've been called crazy more times than I can count in the last couple of days when I tell people about our weekend trip... even driving my truck around before I unloaded it, people were looking all confused, as if saying, "Certainly not..."

Oh, yeah. Certainly.

Snow camping is amazing b/c were often the only ones out there! I wouldn't trade it for anything. Excellent photo of the moon! I remember hearing that this was supposed to be the brightest full moon of 2010, and when reflected off the snow, it was like daylight almost!

Great job getting out, and thanks for sharing!

How does the washer tub work out for you? I've long heard of doing this, and I'm quite curious. Penny for your thoughts... thx.

In a couple of the photo's your guys dog had that look of "why did you drag me out here", kind of funny and those are some big bear tracks.

Nice trailer. :ylsmoke: What's written on the tailgate? That's new.

Looks like a good time. I'm not sure my wife would be up for it.

Im glad you understand as many will on this board. It's all about adventure and getting out there.

The washer tub works well, even though i need to get our legs welded back on and shoot the entire thing with some engine paint. It's seen better days. The tub generates a ton of heat.

Yeah she probably rather stay home. But all in all she never has missed one trip. So she has to come or else it wouldn't be the same.

That's all the places we've ever been. Im keeping a list.

Nice! Always feels good to help out fellow travelers! Was that the Ford truck blocking the trail further up from where you camped?

Yeah, it was up higher in deeper snow. Stuck with 37" tires. With me having the trailer it would have been hard to yank it out of the way. Not to mention if i had to back down that would have been pretty hair raising. They apparently abandoned it and walked out. Later in the night we saw a truck driving up to go recover it but it couldn't make it to the incident scene. I told them, "well at least you know its safe if no one can get to it" :D

Great writeup.
I envy you and Yosh being able to get out so much.

I use to do that years ago from May until late September, about every other weekend with my tent railer and my two sons when they were small.

Now it is hard to find free time, even on weekends sometimes.

That is cool your dog likes to get out camp too.

Angeles NF is a great place, especially the north side, very little use compared to the LA side. Glad you guys found some solitude. (other than the stuck truck)
