Man we get screwed
I have a friend from here that is currently working in Antofagasta and drives a Navara for a work truck. I told him he has to import 5 of them for their office in Edmonton, 1 for me of course :victory:
JP, I absolutely love that Patrol. I wish we could get something like that here, but it seems that most people in American would rather have a smooth riding, low to the ground SUV to take to Starbucks...
Oh what I would do for a solid axle diesel small pickupWould love an SUV but I just haul my bike around too much and hate towing a trailer.
Dude, that sounds great, your friend must be working in the mining industry since in the north of Chile (Antofagasta, Calama, Iquique) all moves around the copper mining. They have thousand of Nissan Navaras and Frontiers (older ones) all turbodiesels as contractors pick ups. All have the ZD30DDti engine which is a 150 hp 4 in line direct injection turbo diesel with catalyst.
Don't get mixed bro, the Patrol has a very smooth ride, like a Toy LC 80 series, with 4 wheel coils ,etc. really a nice ride. For the american market its a little slow (has no V8), thisty for an in line 6, heavy and a little old fashioned , but mine , after 100.000 miles (most of them in gravel road) has no rattle inside and no quirk outside, its rock solid, and also extremely dependable, it won't let you stopped. The UN corps have lots of Nissan Patrols on duty, this means its something you can trust on.
This is me with a Toyota trailer on the back to carry my sleeping bags ... ahahahahahaha
