Heavy-Duty Battery Cables

OK, I need to get new cables for the XJ. The old ones, especially the + cable, need to go. The + is one has one of those clamp on terminals and I am tired of it. I have looked at 2 places that make H-D cables(1awg and 4 awg).
The first place, custombatterycables, seems to be trying to catch up on orders, thus making it impossible to order at this time.
The second one, I just found from google and reading posts on other forums about them , KWiP . Has anyone had/have personal experience with their cables ?

I saw that place was running weeks behind in filling orders too... made me realize that it must be a half decent business! I have been an electrician for 20yrs now and you can imagine how little work there is lately.... so I picked up an 8 ton crimper, some good lugs and lined shrink wrap and have been redoing all the ends in my rig (there are plenty as I am running an inverter/battery combiner system)
I would be happy to make you some custom cables if you are interested....

What about your local (?) battery store? Mine will make them from high quality components at a fair price. If I did not have a crimp tool specific to lugs of this size I would have them make mine. I do buy my cable from them.

Yeah, I make all my own, it's not rocket science. Any local battery shop should be able to do it, definitely any heavy truck repair shop.

Yup, I noticed my local truck and trailer place had a sign out front "We make battery cables." This is not a big deal.

The local welding supply will have welding cable fittings and also a hand crimper you ********** with a hammer. I used Military spec cable ends on mine and crimped and soldered w shrink wrap.

Selarep on NAXJA just sent me replacement cables for my XJ plus extra cables for my dual battery setup...good prices, fast service all pre-terminated...super easy. oh yea - and he wrote on the cables which end goes where which makes it so even I can do the swap!

OK, new question, if my plans are to possibly install a ZJ 127a alternator at a later date, is 1 awg really needed or would 4 awg suffice ? There is about a 45$ difference in the to sets from kwip.....
