I am thinking about taking a number of accessories off the table and lowering the price. I'll keep the soft top, Currie twin stick, carpet, half doors, back seat. Seems like a good package with all the goodies, but I gotta get serious about moving this rig...

Thoughts?

Please don't take it apart -- the complete pkg is too nice for that. (I also can't imagine that you'll increase your bottom line by selling some of the bits separately from the Jeep.)

This bad advice comes from someone who is not in the market for this Jeep, but appreciates a good one when he sees it. :)

My Jeep is still for sale. I need to turn up the wick and get this sold soon.

Offers? Umm...reasonable offers? Will consider partial trades for airhead BMW GS or Dodge Ram 2500 24v diesel accessories/parts.

thx,
Bill

Looking into these neaties a little bit, I find the following:

This is a very good price for what it is. You can find much rougher-condition ones for the same money. You cannot find clean ones for $10K. (I have not seen this one in the flesh, but based on pix and description is it a cupcake.)

This is not the most desirable year, from a collector's standpoint. (There were 18,000 made in 1981, compared with 27,000 made overall, therefore all the other years have lower production numbers.)

This is not the most desirable year, from a wheeler's standpoint. (Some sort of 1982+ enhancements regarding axle length, plus something else.)

None the less, this is still a mighty cool Jeep and someone (else) ought to buy it!:victory:

I think that something else is the trans. The 1981 MY came with an SR4. Subsequent years had a somewhat more robust trans. My SR4 was just rebuilt. All it needed was bearings and seals.

Yes. Someone should. Someone will...eventually.

Argh...that is a beauty BB. Free bump to a gorgeous rig that should have sold by now.

I've always wanted one since I was a kid...just not enough dough yet in the bank to git-r.

Appreciate all the Scrambler admirers. Really need to get this sold. Will offer a finder's fee if anybody knows a buyer.

Thanks,
bb

It must be 'the times' that have stopped this nice rig from finding a 'good home'. I find myself back here thinking about it, and those that know me (and my meticulous vehicular nature) would confirm that I'm ‘the right guy' to own a rig like this... just got to find the $$$

I'm glad you have tried to sell it here instead of eBay.

Doesn't have air-conditioning, right?
