Today I had my Amsoil Engine oil and filter installed. The airfilter was also replaced. UPS screwed up and shipped my 2nd day delivery of my Amsoil to Ontario CA. So the transmission, transfercase and diff will have to wait for when I get back to get changed out. Also the local Dodge dealer screwed up and forgot to order my Pinion seal ring. But at least the Amsoil is in the engine. My new rear Great Lakes diff cover should arrive Saturday. I need to find a shop that can powder coat it to match my Carli front diff guard. So thats it for an update. We are off to hit the hills by my house. Allegedly there was a UFO crash site here by our town back in 1952. The kids want to go and "find the crash site". LOL. They are excited and we are gonna go and look. At least its a good excuse to get out of the house and do some exploring with the truck for the afternoon.

Heres a link I found about the "crash".http://www.kolotv.com/home/headlines/84645047.html

Today the rest of my Amsoil arrived. When I get back I will have all of it installed at the dealership. The transmission will also get a new filter. I will be repacking the bearings and lubing all the zircs as well in the Amsoil grease. I will have a few extra quarts left over to store in my truck.

My wife called me today and said something heavy arrived in the mail Saturday. I ordered a rear diff cover from Great Lakes 4x4. The cover is made fron 1/4" thick steel with 1/2" thick steel mounting ring. It has a fill and drain plug. Dealing with Great Lakes 4x4 was easy and painless. Shawn makes a bullet proof diff cover. My plans are to have her powder coated to match my front Carli diff cover guard. Heres some pics.

I paid $140 with shipping. I had them add the drain plug. I will see if they make one for the front. If they do I will pull the Carli diff protector and put that up for sale.

Carli specifically designed his protector to clear aftermarket steering stabilizers and frontend components. Him and his crew have beaten the snot out of their front diffs with just that protector.
