Well its been some time and thought I would bring the project up to date. The AT Flippac is out for paint according to AT Trailers. Cant wait for her to get done. I also picked up a used / new to me Warn 12,000 lbs rated winch. The winch was discarded due to it no longer working. So I picked it out of the dumpster (cable and all still attached). No easy chore since the dumpster was full of crap and that winch is no light weight! Took it back to my hotel room and cleaned it up a bit. Found a lead that was loose! Brought in one of our 12 volt batteries we use in conjunction with our solar panels. And whoaaallla! Shes alive. I called the techs who decided to dump her and asked why in the hell they did that. A fringing simple connection and they dumped it! Computer geeks! Dumb asses! I was going to have them come by so we could reinstall it but they had there truck in the shop getting a new 16.5 warn. So its now mine and will go on my truck. The winch cable is crap so I will pull it off and install a much lighter synthetic rope. Crap those winches are heavy so anything to lighten them up will be a GOOD thing in my book and for my back! So thats where I am at on this project. I fly out tomorrow for Omaha Nebraska. Will be gone for about a month. I hope the Flippac is done when I get back but I think my camping season is done. Had some ice this morning in the dogs bowl and Mother Winter (that *****) is fast approaching! Now if somebody would just toss a Hanson front bumper or a ARB front bumper or an ARB freeze Fridge even!

I dont think it will ever produce such a lucky find again. BUT if I ever see any winch in a dumpster I will be taking it home!

As a very happy Dodge full-size owner, I fully support the land yacht aesthetic. That's my license plate in the photo above.

Here's a very different source of inspiration:

A thread after my own heart. This is good stuff. You can't beat a CTD for economy and power.

Here's mine on it's way to the Navarro River in Norcal.

Is the Flip Pack still in the plans?

What year Dodge? I have a very similar truck, and other than the 2' leveling kit, Buckstop bumper with Lightforce lights, mag hitec trans pan and 315 BFGs, Aerotank 60 gal diesel tank, it's stock and really needs nothing. I use a 3000 lb Lance camper, or a 26' Skipjack 262 boat (10,000) for camping, the truck handles it fine. I also have a Yam TW200 on the front or back for fun.

According to what I saw, it's an 08. You get the flippac yet? I am drooling over them, and would love to see one on a truck similar to mine.

Hi Guys and gals,
Sorry for the long absence from the site. I have been absolutely swamped at work. Ive been going almost none stop except for a brief break for Christmas. My Flipac did arrive at AT trailers and I will be going there in a few weeks to pick it up. Im now in Columbus, Mississippi and hope to be flying home in about a week or so. If all goes well I will have my wife take a week off so we can go and pick it up. The kids are excited as well.

Well to say the least its been a long time in the works. Finally was able to get some time off to head up to Prescott AZ and pick up my Flip Pac! Man are we a bunch of happy campers (no pun intended). The crew at AT Trailers are top notch and are very professional. The install went off with out a hitch and we had the bonus of arriving on the day of there open house event. I cannot stress enough how great this company is. I have dealt with many companies and the attention to detail and customer service from AT Trailers is the best I have ever received. OK as soon as I remember how to post pics I will do so.

I so envy you guys, being from Las Vegas, it's easy to love anywhere but here, but Ely and Gardnerville are two of my favorites.
