I like the third photo best. It looks so beautiful.

That was shot from maybe 3/4 of a mile from my in laws place. They live at the top of the hill and this is at the bottom where the bridge crosses the creek.
I never thought I would have the chance to go to anywhere like this until I met my wife who is from there of course. Now we are planning when I retire to live there full time.
Beautiful country for sure, of course not all of it looks like this, where she is its a lot more like Arizona, dry no grass, banana trees etc.

That looks like an amazing place. I love how the peak seems to float above the clouds. Any problems with malaria?

Stop it!!! It's been soooo long! I stayed near Mto Wa Mbu years ago, such an amazing place. What area is your wife from?

Trevor,
My wife is from the Kilimanjaro area, sort of near Machame
If you have been there you've more than likely heard of the Chugga tribe, she is one of them. I found out too late about them! :)
She is currently a Lecturer at the University of Dodoma though, much different area than Moshi. We're building a place near Kili for vacations though, ( may someday live there) Its pretty much done except for laying the tile floors and finish plumbing / electrical.

Good photos that you posted, we got several like those last year when we did Ngorongoro Crater, Manyara N.P.and part of the Serengeti. Awesome to see huge herds of zebras, lions, etc. Even found one black Rhino in the crater.

Not so much in the Kilimanjaro area where she is from as its a lot cooler, now in Dodoma and Dar es Salaam areas there is a problem. We stayed with some friends one night near Kidmu area and they were real bad, even with netting they somehow found me and I had about 27 bites. My wife has had bad cases of it several times over the years.

That's good to hear. I was scheduled to go to Benin this December to help with a medical mission and was just about to get started on the long list of pills and shots when it got postponed. I've heard the malaria pills have some nasty side effects. I was disapointed as I was wanting to stay a little longer and maybe tour the Serengeti or part of the Sahara. Someday...!
