Don't know if anybody's looking for a short Mog, but this GL auction may slip under the radar of most Mog hunters:

1989 Freight Liner Corp. Industrial Wheeled Tractor with odometer reading 0054395miles,serial number;1FG999992JM451293,mdl;FLU419,missing key,has spare tire with flat front tire. Diesel engine (Daimler-Benz AG Model OM352). Standard transmission. Front end loader 3/4 cubic yard (1), rear hydraulic backhoe 7 cubic feet (1), hydraulic concrete hammer (1), hydraulic rotary hammer drill (1), hydraulic chainsaw (1).

It's a SEE. A 419 I think. It is a Unimog sold by freightliner I think.

Yup a SEE (small emplacement excavator).

Cool looking little rigs, but from what I have heard from people in the military who used them, they never really worked well, either as a digger or as a truck. The shovel was so small it didn't dig very well. And all the equipment on it made it hard (and sometimes dangerous) to drive at higher road speeds.

Take all the equipment off and they would make a hell of a nice truck for the trails though.

A company in the southern US picked up 20 or so of them a couple months ago and are selling them off as well.

Great idea, bad execution. A real mechanics nightmare, I hated working on them.

i drove a SEE in korea for 1 1/2 yrs and loved it. I learned to drive a stick in the SEE I loved that truck. i would take the bucket and backhoe off and drive it as a daily driver if I had one. Miss all the big trucks I got to drive in the army.
