My Ford Bronco Build Thread

Yeah my thoughts exacvtely, everything about this truck fits what I am looking to do. Very excited about it and it fell into my lap. Gotta love it when that happens!

Looks like a plenty good truck to start with. First thing's first, remove the nerf bars for some sliders, you could probably make some money on the euro tails and get some stockers back on easily.

How much lift are you planning on running to fit those tires? Trimming?

What type of Radius Arms and coils?

I love my Bronco. Here is mine with a 6" lift and 35's. I wanted to make it a little lower, but 6" was the lowest I could do without making new cross members or really limiting up-travel of the front diff as it would will make contact with the TTB/main engine cross member.

Let me know if you need any help or have questions.

Great Truck Elmo

Elmo great truck! I love the paint, my DD is red in the sam,e areas as yours but my middle is silver. Gray interior. They are beautiful like that! Your truck is awesome!

I am going to run a 6" lift, and probably use leafs to do the SAS upfront. I have the Front Dana 60 ready to go as you can see but for some reason I am just really liking the idea of leafs, although the truck I just bought has 6" coil in it already. Uhhh....decisions, decisions!

What coils, and radius arms are you running on your bronco? I'll be building a 78 or 79 here shortly. Those look like CAGE offroad radius arms if i was to guess?

Cage arms and their progressive coils. It has turned out to be a very nice combo.

Slight Progress

Just a quick update, I finished off the Dana 60 this weekend and mounted the other H1 rim. Looks great but no pics yet.

Starting the Roof Rack

Here are some pics of my "soon to be" roof rack. I got the water cans from an expo member Rover Hokie-the man is great! Great deal fast ship, he even did me a solid when I needed to change my order....HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!!:wings:

The roof rack will be 54" wide and 85" long, I will see if I can post the crude drawing I came up with for the entire thing, until then here acouple pics.

Rack Mounting

Well, just to be clear, the pics above holding the water cans are about 1/4 of the actual rack. This is the right side above the driver, it will be duplicated on the left side nad they will both be mounted via the rain gutter. The back of the rack will be mounted either directly to the roof, which is not my first choice or to a "hoop" system. What that means is I want to run tubing down the side of the truck and bolt it into the body below the windows and res the cage on the front and rear support. So it will kinda be an exo cage but not really at all, just to give you an idea.

i don't know if your still looking for a fold down seat or not , but I have nice one from the rear of an econoline van. Its blue in color. Shoot me a PM if your interested.I can get pics and dimensions.(just south of Roanoke,VA)
The van will go to scrap soon and I hate to leave this seat in it, it just won't work with the plans for my van.I'll take $50 for it.

Not sure this helps or not but the back seat of a '96 Aerostar lays flat. Dunno if it will convert well into a Bronco but might help you in your search.

Oh and my first post!
