My "Mil Spec Offroad" Trailer Resto

The one I bought was the last of his "show trailers", and while it was several years old, it was hardly used and had been sitting at a friend's house in San Diego.

A little late to the party but thought I'd share. The builder (his name escapes me right now) was a very nice guy and did wonderful work. As you pointed out, his price point was too high and he could not make a living from it. Before moving to OK, he had 2 M8-A1s left, one Olive Drab and one Desert Tan and I remember him saying someone else was looking at purchasing one of his trailers. Not sure if it was you or if you bought it at a later time.

This picture you posted was taken in his backyard and the trailer to the left of yours (see tip of the fender) was the DT one running 33" BFGs at the time. He later switched the tires/wheels around... :ylsmoke:

They are very nice trailers, and it's easy to see that they are pretty stout.
It's curious about the smallish size of the box though, if the lines were followed forward it looks like you could get at least a couple more feet of length.

Lawrence, I probably picked up the olive drab trailer at a later time. Tim was already in Oklahoma, and I'm guessing the desert tan trailer was long gone. It would be interesting to know where that one ended up. The rack on it was very cool, but would not have been compatible with my RTT.

Adam Blaster, the box is indeed rather small, but the space in front of it is just about the right size for my Yeti.

When he built them, Tim wanted to restrict the amount of cargo someone could carry. When I spoke with him, he said that if he made the box bigger, people would carry more stuff and he didn't feel like it would be a good idea. So he decided to make the box on the smaller side. At least, that's the explanation he gave me.

It is sitting in my garage. :sombrero: I have used it on one trip only (Mojave Trail photo below) and then used my Kimberley Kamper from there on. I am wondering what to do with it, it is very cool but doesn't do much good collecting dust in the garage. I may modify it and put a RTT, who knows?

Oh! I didn't realize that was a photo of your rig, very cool!

I bet you wouldn't have much trouble selling it on here if you decided to do that...

Hey, that's the way to improvise, overcome and adapt! I fliped one traversing the side of a hill when the high side wheel hit a bump!
