Wiffleball Batter
Already posted on T4R.org, got not response, so I thought I'd try it here.
Okay, I got my outside temp gauge and single-pod pillar mount (from http://www.egauges.com) So I need to install it (probably this weekend.)
So I need to find two things: A power source and a way to tap into the lights for the dimmer function. The temp sensor will then be routed through the firewall and down to the front bumper.
So what's the best way to tap into the power? The gauge is going onto the A pillar and I know the fuse block is behind the lower dash panel. Is there an easy or convenient way to get power off of that? Can I just find an open "slot" on the fuse block and get power that way?
And how about the dimmer? I'll look at the instructions again but it's got a purple wire that needs to be connected to something that gets power when the interior lights are on (I guess when it gets power it will 'dim' the LED display.) Can I just get a "tap" to connect it to a wire for the interior or exterior lights? Has anyone else tried this?
This is the first time I've installed an aftermarket electrical accessory in many, many years so my "skillz" are a bit rusty. Eventually I want to install off road lights and possibly a winch (which I presume will need to be on a new relay wired directly to the battery, correct?) Just looking for an easy way to get power to my gauge and hopefully not look like some kind of redneck jury-rigged setup.
Thanks in advance! :ylsmoke:
