I hate the Firefly system and its competitor the One Control as well. Everything is integrated into the touchscreen and its computer. I don’t understand what was wrong with switches.
It did great. I went back to a full size 3/4 ton gasser truck for the bigger fuel tank. Now I see you can get a 37 gallon tank for the Ranger. It'd be hard to go back to the Ranger's little 5' box though after having an 8'.
The Ranger got the same fuel economy towing the Scamp as the 3/4 ton...
My 2500hd gasser chev has a payload of 2800# or so. There’s a sticker in the glovebox that says maximum truck camper weight is 1995#. Seems pretty conservative considering it’s an eight foot box.

I believe every outlet, light switch, wire splice etc needs to be in an enclosed junction box. There are not conventional junction boxes in an rv, they use the weird combination outlet/junction box things you found.

Yes those are odd. They are their own junction box, that’s the idea. There’s a very expensive tool that presses the wires into place. They’re rated for three sets of wires pressed in there, which gets real tricky. They’ve definitely caused me some stress.
